I was siphoning out the ethanol the previous owner had put the hose through the sending unit hole. I replaced it with this since I had the floor and seats out. The old one still worked, but might as well since I was in that deep! I measured from the top on the tank to the bottom, and it was 7 inches. I ordered the 6 inch one and it doesn't hit the bottom. I put 5 gallons of pure gas in and it didn't register. It was registering in the low zone with 10 gallons, so I'm certain it's not near the bottom of the tank, plus it'll read like I have less gas than I really do! (Think that's a good thing!)

Easy install , fit perfectly , and the holes even lined up to original. Had to use original screws due to thread size or screw size.

Works so far on my 94 Ebbtide, the old Cork was too saturated and never read full, since you can't buy just the cork I had to replace the whole sending unit, this style is much easier to install than the original. only thing you really have to do is take the original out and measure the distance when empty to ensure you buy the correct replacement

It works but not that steady once fuel tank is 3/4 full.
