Although it works well, at least gives the same reading of two other thermometers, the item send was different from the one in the picture advertising it.

I saw the exact same product (different packaging) in a well known gardening shop for nearly £8. I have mine mounted in my conservatory. The temperature goes up and down as expected. The only small issue is the blue fluid in the tube can be slightly difficult to read for time to time and I have prefect eyesight.

It's solid, nicely made and it seems to work very well. I bought two, one for the warmest room, and one for by the front door, and it's been helpful for measuring how high to put on the heating (as our heating system has no temperature scale on it).I'd recommend them - although obviously I'm trusting they're both accurate, but they seem to be in sync with each other!

Quite hard to read from, I had to get rid of it because of mould growth.

Hardly a precision instrument, but very good at the price (including postage!!)As the glass tube can be made to slide up and down on the wooden base, it is possible to calibrate against an accurate device.Quite happy with it.
