To customise your sign: After purchasing your sign please send SLATEWORKS ONLINE an message using 'contact seller' with your customisation details (e.g. I would like 35 Albert Square in Harrington font on 2 lines please). Text is not relief engraved or painted on it is surface engraved with a laser engraver. I will set the sign out the way I think looks best using Times New Roman font unless you state otherwise. Please note slate is a natural product and will vary it ranges from 3mm to 8mm thick and no two pieces will be the same which I think gives these slates their charm. The slates are cut by hand and may vary in size slightly but no more than 0.5cm. The text colour will vary from off-white to grey depending on the slate used, which is lacquered to enhance the contrast.

Looks good, however
Unfortunately the sign arrived with a corner broken off. Super glue came to the rescue and all is fixed. However, please note for future orders. Perhaps having polystyrene on corners would help to protect the edges?

I ordered this for my parents house as I already have one and it was fine except for a little chip on the bottom but I touched it up as I didn't want to keep them waiting by sending it back. The numbers/letters weren't that bright so I suggested after reading another review that they should paint clear varnish over it - do not do this, it may have worked for someone else but made this one even darker.

What's your number?
This is a lovely house sign though I felt the writing was slightly off-centre, however, it's not noticeable once it's on the wall. Arrived with a small chip out of the edge but that was due to the postman dropping it through the letterbox and it landed on a ceramic tiled floor. Took quite a long time to arrive.Overall, very pleased with it and would recommend it to others.

EYECATCHING
Yes I like it, good even thickness of slate and engraving is very eye catching, to save cracking the slate while fixing to an uneven brick surface, which I had, I used rubber washers to take the strain and also ]hopefully] keeps the nameplate far enough away from the brick to stop the water being trapped behind the slate freezing in the winter months and cracking it.

Good product, good value.
Got this as a present for my Mum's new house, as the one the house had looked like the numbers were done with biro on some pensioner's china saucer. It went on the wall easily. There was a little nick out of one of the corners and the writing isn't quite as stand out as I thought it would be but all in all its good. Good value too.

Looks fine, well priced, not really engraved.
In the product description, it claims to be engraved, but if you run your finger over it - you can't feel anything, so it's more like it's been printed. Probably to be expected for the price, which is very reasonable. As it is, it looks okay, is easy to fix to the wall, and presents and improved look over what was there before. A month or so in and no signs of anything wearing away yet, so we'll see what winter brings.

Nice Sign - Could be Whiter
This is quite a nice stylish sign (15 * 15 version) and is satisfactory for my purpose. The inscription is well presented although it is not as white as the promo image would have you believe. In fact it is more of a grey. Seems to me that another coat or two of paint is needed. Consequently, you may struggle to read the text at a distance, say, over 25 feet depending on the font.
