I got one 23 years ago , as expected baby had to take a rear seat on bike. Fantastic for trips out ( and shopping). We moved from Surbiton to Cornwall that year and discovered real hills! So much less use.Now the ‘ baby ‘ is learning to drive my car, and will then take it away, and I thought it would be great to return to the trailer. It’s so handy and I ‘ve had many years to get used to the hills here!I was a bit shocked at the current price ( I m sure it was <£200 in 1998) , but mine was reduced in price.I like the fact that the pins that secure the trailer to bike are attached to the trailer ( in the past they weren’t and I lost one) .It came in a big box and was not hard to put together😀.

THE best monetary investment I have ever made! (a bold claim you may say!) As much as it can take up to 70 kilos/ 11 stone in weight, and provides more-than-adequate space for tools, big bike-pumps and other ephemera, it provides a bit-more protection with regards motorists etc: It gives you an added length on the road, and the luminous yellow bag and flag means 'they' can see you. I have cycled country roads and glasgow city-centre roads with Bob-in-tow, and I have felt unusually secure, and I have it fitted to my Cannondale Slice triathlon bike!! A worthy investment for any cyclist.

I purchased my Bob in 2003, it has covered thousands of heavily loaded miles and been all over the place, I've not treated it with kid gloves, and is still in great condition. I use the Bob bag to carry all my camping gear, and a Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyre, I've never had a puncture. When touring and camping the empty trailer turned over makes a great table. When you stop make use of a centre stand, and it becomes easy to park up. Just need to be careful about speed when going downhill, over 50kph you can get a very frightening wobble start through the whole rig and can be difficult to bring under control (it does warn you about this in the brochure) A really great bit of kit for camping tours.

I have owned a BOB Yak trailer for over 12 years and have used it with a variety of mountain bikes on and off road. While I have often looked at the more expensive suspension version the Ibex, I have not had sufficient justification to replace my Yak as it is still going strong after all these years. However, do check out the Ibex if you want to use a trailer primarily off-road.The Yak is very well made, brilliantly designed and far superior to paniers. The load is kept low (unlike paniers) which improves stability, and the single wheel design tracks very well even on gentle singletrack. While I have tried to take my trailer down some very technical routes and it has survived, you will find you need to modify your line selection to avoid it bottoming out or clipping rocks or trees on very narrow sections. Apart from this you honestly hardly notice it is there. The trailer itself is pretty light, but depending on how much you load it with, you will notice the extra effort required uphill and equally the extra speed you gain downhill, however it doesn't impact your riding style at all.The trailer is designed very cleverly. There is a rear quick release skewer included that you simply swap with your existing one, then the trailer can be clipped on or off in under 10 seconds. The included bungee spider allows you to easily secure any load. When I bought mine many years ago the bag was not included so I cannot comment on it specifically. I simply place a 65 litre rucksack in the trailer and it fits easily. While I ditched the mudgaurd after my first few off-road excursions, the flag is surprisingly good at attracting attention while on the road and I always ride with this still fitted.Of all the trailers on the market I am convinced BOB still make the best and whether you opt for this or the Ibex with its added suspension, you will not be dissapointed. While it is a reasonable investment, I have found my BOB trailer to have exceptional build quality and really intelligently designed.

Der Anhänger ist sehr gut verarbeitet und passt bestens ans Bike. Er hat uns schon einige Tausend Kilometer begleitet und sorgt auch mit der Fahne bei den nachfolgenden Autofahrern für Respekt - jedenfalls sind die Bögen, die die Autos um mein "Gespann" machen ausreichen groß. Gut gelungen ist auch das abstellen des Biks mit abgewinkeltem Hänger. Sogar an einen dicken Kratzschutz beidseitig am Boden wurde gedacht. Teures Teil aber für uns jeden Euro wert! Finger weg von 60-Euro Nachbauten!

Nous l'avons testée en faisant le canal du Nivernais.Elle a transporté sans problème tout notre matériel de camping pour trois.D'autre part, le timon et la roue se démontent rapidement ce qui facilite le transport en voiture.Bref, nous en sommes très contents.

Den Yak habe ich eigentlich für Radreisen gekauft.Ich wollte einen Anhänger, um nicht das ganze Gewicht am Fahrrad zu haben und hoffe, daß ich so morgens schneller gepackt habe als mit Taschen.(Update am 25.6.2014: Inzwischen war ich mehrmals damit unterwegs. Anfangs noch zusätzlich mit mehreren, großen Taschen am Lowrider und an einem Gepäckträger, den ich am Yak angebracht habe. Inzwischen mit weniger und leichterer Ausrüstung und dadurch auch mit weniger und kleineren zusätzlichen Taschen. Für mich ist das inzwischen ein guter Kompromiß, die größeren Dinge wie Zelt, Schuhe und einige Liter Wasser in der großen Tasche zu verstauen und Klamotten, Kamera, Essen usw. auf kleinere Taschen zu verteilen. Jede Tasche bedeutet zwar zusätzliches Gewicht, aber ich kann so besser Ordnung halten.)positiv:+ Vielseitig durch die zusammenhängende Ladefläche. Taugt dadurch auch für Gartenabfälle und Elektroschrott.+ Wirkt stabil und macht bisher keinen Ärger.+ Der Schnellspanner mit den Kupplungen ist ratz-fatz getauscht.+ Wenn der mitgelieferte Schnellspanner nicht paßt, gibt es noch andere Längen und für Vollachsen Radmuttern mit verschiedenen Gewinden.+ Schmaler als mehrspurige Anhänger, man hat also keine Probleme mit Gegenverkehr auf Radwegen und kommt recht gut an Absperrungen vorbei.+ Läuft gut hinterher, solange es nicht bergauf geht ;-)+ (Update am 25.6.2014: Durch die größere Bodenfreiheit und den glatteren Boden sitzt er an Stufen und Böschungen später auf als der Monoporter.)nicht so positiv (allgemein, wahrscheinlich auch für ähnliche Anhänger gültig):- Ich habe bei meinem Fahrrad eine Weile gebraucht, bis sich die Deichsel des Anhängers, die Streben des Schutzblechs, die Schrauben des Gepäckträgers, der Fahrradständer und der Schaltzuganschluß der Rohloff-Nabe nicht mehr ins Gehege gekommen sind.- Nicht alle Fahrräder sind von den Herstellern als Zugmaschine freigegeben.- An Steigungen und beim Beschleunigen bremst bereits das Gewicht des unbeladenen Anhängers den Vorwärtsdrang ein wenig.- Man spürt, wie der Anhänger vom Fahrrad aufrecht gehalten werden muß. Wenn man hoch belädt, ist das sogar ziemlich wackelig, auch wenn die Fracht nicht besonders schwer ist.- Wenn man das Fahrrad am Lenker anhebt, will sich die ganze Fuhre auf die Seite legen. Man muß es also immer gut festhalten. (Update am 25.6.2014: Taschen am Lowrider vorne wirken tatsächlich als Gegengewicht, sind aber eine zusätzliche Belastung für Rahmen und Gabel und machen es schwerer, das Vorderrad einen Randstein oder Absatz hinaufzuheben. Also nicht übertreiben.)- Ein Fahrrad mit Anhänger ist ziemlich lang. Bei Verkehrsinseln muß man darauf achten, daß man komplett von der Fahrbahn runter ist.- An Hindernissen (Treppen, Leitplanken) wird es umständlich. Entweder man hat mehrere helfende Hände oder man muß abuppeln, alles einzeln drüberwuchten und dann den beladenen Anhänger wieder ans Fahrrad bekommen. (Update am 25.6.2014: Das gilt auch in Zügen, an Bahnhöfen und überall da, wo man auf engem Raum wenden oder rangieren muß.)nicht so positiv (speziell Bob Yak):- Bodenfreiheit ist ok, aber das Hinterrad ist ziemlich klein. (Update am 25.6.2014: Es bleibt gerne an Treppenstufen und in der Lücke zwischen Zug und Bahnsteig hängen.)- manche Dinge sind woanders besser z.B.: - Der Monoporter steht ohne Fahrrad stabil und gerade. Dabei berührt die Deichsel nicht den Boden. - Den Monoporter kann man zerlegen, während der Yak auch ohne Rad und Deichsel ziemlich sperrig ist. - Der Chela von Koga hat hinten zusätzlich kleine Rollen, dank denen man ihn abgekuppelt und mit abgenommenen Hinterrad wie eine Reisetasche ziehen kann.

Bin leidenschaftlicher Radler, den Hänger kannte ich vom Sehen und Ansprechen der Radler die ihn nutzen.Der Hänger ist PERFEKT; was ich im Vorfeld gesurft hatte stimmt:- Achsentausch geht superschnell- Nutzung im Alltag-Anhängen,Wegstellen ist easy- solange das Gewicht nicht hoch gepackt wird ist das Fahrverhalten klasse- der Kraftaufwand für die Kilos die gezogen werden ist viel kleiner als dasselbe Gewicht in Taschen- ein klasse Produkt zu einem stolzen Preis, aber es ist jeden € wert, weil das Fahrverhalten ist wie ohne Hänger

der Anhänger erfüllt meine Vorstellung davon zu 100%, der Transport von einem Getränkekasten 20x0,5 l ist superleicht und beim fahren so gut wie nicht zu merken. Der Anhänger läßt sich spielend leicht an- und abkuppeln. Die speziellen Radmutten von BOB haben sich bei meiner Rohloff absolut bewährt!
