MAISI® ULTRA HD Dashcam
This dashcam is well built, and is very small, the suction pad is very strong on the winscreen and should never fall off, the camera can be unmounted from the suction pad which is a neat idea, so no need to remove the suction pad anymore when you want to review the recorded clips. The camera can be connected to your computer via the USB cable supplied, so no need to remove the SD card. The in car charger/power lead is very long, running the camera on the battery can give up to an hour recording time and the camera will shut down automatically when it's too low.The screen resoluton can be set to 1296P, 1080P, and 720P, I found 1920x1080 just fine for reading number plates. It can actually take a sandisk 64GB Micro SD card which can give approx 8 to 10 hours recording time depending on the resolution you choose. The camera can use the exFat file system on the Micro SD card which can allow files longer than 4GB in length, but the record interval has no OFF option, so all the recordings are split into dozens of small video clips. It has only two settings for the record interval, 3 mins and 5 mins, I would have liked the option to turn this off so the whole journey could be captured in a single file.Video quality playback on a computer is excellent and the camera copes very well with direct sunlight keeping a good image.I would like the option to turn off the auto record feature so I can just press OK when I want to record and OK again to stop. The camera will start recording automatically when you switch it on even before you get to access the menus, also after using the menus when you exit them it starts recording automatically again which is annoying.I can recommend this dashcam as good quality and value for money ... it just needs a few more options and I would give it five stars.

All nicely packaged, really good and clear instructions which were ...
After doing the usual research for a decent dash cam I came across this. All the reviews were positive so I went and ordered it along with a Scandisk 32 gb SD card. Order promptly delivered and I have to say that all the reviews about this were spot on.All nicely packaged, really good and clear instructions which were easy to follow and the dashcam itself is well constructed and solid. Inserted the SD card, charged the battery and connected to the computer so I could format the SD card. Attached the suction cup mount and then tried to find where best to place it on the windscreen. On my vehicle I have those black dots at the top of the screen in the vicinity of the rear view mirror which can be tricky to try and get the suction mount to stick to. I did notice that as it's a wide angle lens it was picking up the black casing on the windscreen that is immediately in front of the rear view mirror that covers the sensors - rain - dusk etc. I moved the suction mount a bit lower down than the black dots and that sorted out the issue. The dashcam is small and very neat - I have the LCD screen switch off after 30 seconds so I can initially check the view but then it doesn't cause a distraction to me whilst driving. The dashcam switches on / off automatically when starting / turning off the engine. Rather than try to remove the dashcam / try to remove the SD card - both of which are very fiddly - I removed the power lead and then inserted a USB lead which was connected to a laptop and I was able to view / save the clips. The footage is very good even in poor light as it tends to be at this time of year.So far well impressed with the product.

Buy a better product - this one isnt what you wilol be expecting!
I purchased this dashcam to replace an aging cheap Chinese £10 1080p dashcam that I have had a couple of years. Only reason for replacing it was to gain quality. Not overly impressed. Image is pixilated, almost as much as the 1080p camera it is replacing. I have been through the menu, and changed the quality to full 1296p.Image has a strange "fish eye" effect. Not major, but noticeable.Camera will not connect to my PC or mac at all. Tried on 2 pc's and 1 newish mac. Plug it into the usb port on the computer, and it just switches on as if you have plugged it into your car. Maybe it doesn't have this function, but strange to include a USB cable if that is the case. I have to plug memory card into the pc/mac to work around this.On screen menus are ok - easy enough to get around.Still shots suffer from the same fish eye effectQuality of photos poor as with most dashcams - Quality of 1296p video is as good as 720p dashcams I have used. Not impressive at all.Night vision is excellent. Was really impressed by this!Build quality is great - feels solid, although looks a bit dated.Nice long charger cable.Overall - not great. The nightvision is the only reason I am considering keeping it. I thought after reading the reviews, I was getting a great product - but notice nearly none of the reviews are verified purchases.May well return it

Good quality
Well built piece of kit, no creaks if you squeeze the case. Sucker grips screen very firmly. Very long cable from Cigarette lighter plug so easy to route around the screen Nice clear image, easy to read number plates. I am using he HDR mode and it copes very well with bright morning sky and darker at ground level. Inevitably a 150 degree lens gives lots of distortion but this does not affect the ability to clearly identify vehicles and people. I suspect that the first thing to fail will be the screen sucker as it is pulled on and off several time a day, it would be nice to be able to get replacement suckers. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy again and recommend it to friends and families
