Seed All-in-One Vinyl Turntable Record Player with Built-in 80W HiFi Speakers, Bluetooth/WiFi/AUX-in/USB/RCA, White Oak Wood

My first Hym looked fantastic but skipped & jumped right out of the box. Hym did not even answer my e-mails asking for help, but fortunately Amazon took it back and sent a replacement. Then after 1.5 years of normal use the replacement started skipping etc. No obvious reasons (dust, levelling) but I can feel a new "rumble" coming from the motor. Hym did respond very briefly in broken English twice, then went silent. (The second short note confirmed that there are no service centres/partners anywhere in southern California!). So being out of warranty I'm stuck with a very nice looking box that's good for bluetooth but can't play records. Very disappointing! Buyer beware...Final Update 9/17/2021Now after using the HYM as a speaker/ bluetooth speaker for a few months I have finally boxed it up and dumped it at an electrical waste facility. Once the bluetooth function died it had become a pointless (but very nice looking) waste of space. Oddly enough I finally decided to dump it after listening to a podcast about the fraud case against Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. Zero after-sales backup or care from the company. Useless idiots. Another great idea over-hyped with exaggerated performance claims and no substance. Lesson learned - don't invest good money in prototype stereo gear!

The media could not be loaded.  This is a beautiful device designed and engineered with care and ingenuity. Most importantly, it sounds great, car better than any other “all-in-one” turntable/speaker I’ve seen. I have played anything from The Beatles on vinyl to streaming Depeche Mode from Spotify via Bluetooth or my classical iTunes library and other music via HYM’s iOS app. It all sounds great. My only criticism would be that the WiFi setup is a bit fiddly and requires your iOS or Android device to be hooked up to a 2.4Ghz (not 5 Ghz) network. It also doesn’t seem to remember the setting and needs to be re-connected each session. Hopefully a future firmware / app update will iron this out. None of this detracts from what I consider to be a perfect, room filling and heart warming addition to our home.

I would be very careful about buying this. I had to return mine for several reasons. First, the deck looks pretty cheaply made, and every brand new 33 I tried to play skipped endlessly. Also, that expensive internal sound system shorted out at anything above average volume, and the system had to be turned off an on to reset it. I tried to address these issues with their customer service, but after nearly a week of waiting for a response, I gave up and just returned it. Life is too short, and this thing is to expensive for it to work so poorly out of the box. Aside from those defects, there is also not much to recommend it. The tonearm and other visible components are flimsy, and I imagine they will break easily. It also does not come with a dust cover, which is a joke at this price point. It looks good in photos, but that is about it.

Amazing - so happy with this record player. We’d wanted one for so long but didn’t have the space for a whole set up. This all in one sounds fantastic, works beautifully, is packaged so nicely, plus, AMAZING customer service with the company directly. Couldn’t be happier.

First and foremost I can confidently say this is one of the best All in one vinyl systems on the market. The build quality exceeded all my expectations. The single wood piece that is bent around the system is gorgeous. The belt drive, arm and platter are very good quality . My only very slight criticism is the front right stabilization foot on the bottom of the system was not screwed in straight so part of the foot doesn’t make contact with the surface that the system sits on (this is a very minor issue). As for audio the sound is amazing and can get very loud with minimal distortion. Bluetooth and auxiliary in work perfect but airplay seem to have slightly more lag than other airplay devices I’ve used in the past. Airplay works perfectly fine for audio only but is completely unusable when connected to an Apple TV as the audio/video sync is severely off. This should hopefully be resolved in a future firmware update (I have already had one update for my system).Overall a great system:build quality 4.5/5 - solid wood is a great touch and nothing feels cheap except for remote but I tend to use the touch controls more on the front of the systemaudio 4/5 - if you only rate the audio from vinyl and Bluetooth it would be 5 stars but with the Airplay issues this loses a star (hopefully firmware can fix this)Connectivity 4/5 - With Bluetooth, WIFI, Ethernet, Aux IN, SPDIF/RCA OUT I am able to have multiple devices connected and not have to remove and attach wires when using different devices. There is a USB port on the back that I wish was powered for charging device but at this point only looks to be for USB for audio files of which I still need more clarity from=m the company on what file formats are supported and how this feature is even used.App 2.5/5 - currently this is the weakest part of the system (luckily this can be fixed). The app currently only works in WiFi mode and needs to be regionalized more as there is horrible mixture of English and other languages and music services mixed in together that make for a horrible experience. I am happy that the app easily controls all firmware updates or the system. I would like to see a user guide for the HYM system built into the app cause to setup the WiFi I had to reference the paper manual for the password to the HYM system for syncing. If anyone ever lost the paper manual you would pretty much have to contact tech support as no real help is listed on the manufacturer website at this point. I would like to see future control support for possibly USB connected files and equalizer controls. Luckily Spotify has native support for HYM for now I can just ignore this app entirely except for WiFi setup and firmware upgrade. HYM needs to really put a better focus on the app.

Worth every penny. Fantastic turntable. Excellent arm balance. Super sound out of the four speakers (two woofers, two tweeters). Easy controls via app or remote. Works via bluetooth or wi-fi. VERY easy to set up. Also very nice as a bluetooth speaker for playing media from other devices. Of course, Seed is not perfect. There's no "lock down" for the arm. There's also no automatic lift and drop to start the record and return the needle when the record is over. Also, the choice of power adapter is questionable. It uses a square connector power brick similar to a Lenovo laptop. If this comes even slightly loose, there's an annoying hum that blasts out of the speakers. Hym should have used something a little more secure/conventional.
