Orthodox Childrens Illustrated Bible Reader

the reason i am not happy with the book i recievedit teared apart some of the pages and the covore ripped.

I wanted to purchase a bible for my grandkids ages 10-12 and found this one that was perfect. Their illustrations are beautiful and the stories written are age appropriate. The book is also good for adults who may be looking to brush up on biblical events.

Very good purchase. We have had several other children's Bibles and this is the best one by far. Beautiful illustrations. I was looking for a book that is as close to the actual Biblical text as possible, but just a step down in complexity than the actual Bible, so that kids can more easily understand. This fits the bill perfectly. I didn't want a Bible story book that completely re-tells the stories in a cutesy juvenile way like some of them do. If you want a book like that, this is not for you. This is like they took the actual text and just made it slightly easier to understand for younger readers. Kind of like what a parent might do if they were reading a passage from the actual Bible to their children, changing a few words to make it easier to understand but overall reading the passage with integrity and keeping the formality and the sacredness of the text.

I highly recommend this for children to learn how to understand the Bible in their own way. It tells us all about the Bible in story form. I, as a mother, have learned a lot from these stories myself. Absolutely love it! It’s a staple in our home for bedtime.

A perfect book for the Orthodox Christian child! The book is stuffed full of illustrations that are very reminiscent of icons. The book has a layout similar to a chapter book, and is written as more of a story than a normal Bible. However, I think that this is really great for kids. It really does get the basic stories across, without missing details, and presents in it a familiar and kid-friendly manner.The pages have a slightly glossy feel to them- very high quality, and the illustrations are crisp. A ribbon is attached to the binding for easy bookmarking. This book was worth absolutely every penny.

I've gone through a couple children's bibles with my daughter and they have all fallen short until this one. This is a well-written children's bible. The stories are told in plain language easily understood by kids, but the stories themselves aren't dumbed down. Unlike many of the kids' bibles put out by Protestant organizations, this bible isn't worded in such a way as to push a heterodox understanding of scripture. Illustrations are vibrant and beautiful, and they call to mind Orthodox iconography.
