This is just what I was looking for. I'm a commercial fisherman in Alaska, and I wanted something solid but not expensive. The peices have a good weight to them, and they're nice looking as well. Non slip base, latching and foulding board. I will be putting a band around it just in case. Every peice is secured in a foam insert inside the board. For the price you can't ask for much more. Now we shall see how they hold up at the Bay.

This set arrived promptly and in excellent condition. I was a little amused by the rattle that I heard in the box as I was unpacking it because most of the pieces had been dislodged from their tight, molded holders in the underside of the board. The box must have been given a serious shaking.I so captured by the beauty of the set that I had to play a game right away. Even though the material of the pieces is acrylic, they feel like metal and are finely finished. The two-tone construction of the large pieces is stunning, and the board has been finely crafted. All the pieces have a weight that keeps them from being easily knocked over during play.The two things that I miss in this set are the lack of numbers and letters along the outer edges that comply with standard chess notation and the lack of true black for the black pieces. They are of a deep maroon color and probably could have been made with black acrylic. Nevertheless I am very pleased with this set. It makes playing chess a real pleasure.

I'm a Sr Citizen and so glad to have this set. I caught it on Sale for $50.00 and it's well worth it. This Chess Set is quite exquisite!!! It is a very beautiful masterpiece!!!! I love looking at it and I haven't even had a chance to play a game on it yet. It's the most luxurious Chess Set I've ever owned!!! I love that it is colorful and not the typical Black & White. I don't forsee having a problem finding a Chess piece that may have fallen on the floor or rolled under a sofa. So now, when I play, the game will be played as Light vs Dark, in lieu of White vs Black. Simply GEORGEOUS!!! Clearly this Set is for an Adult!!!

No magnets but nice set for beginners

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE this set! This is the first chess set I’ve ever owned! The pieces are beautiful and the board has that vintage look! I hope it keeps for a while!

Bought this for my 8 year old grandson for xmas. He’s been wanting to learn to play and was really excited to get this beautiful set. It look expensive and is the perfect gift to get kids away from endless video games! I love playing with him and watching him learn
