Used in meditations and ritual practices, black candles are used to absorb negative energy and help banish evil. Soy candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin candles. Unlike paraffin wax, a gasoline by-product, soy wax is a natural product derived from soybeans and is non toxic. Great candle and surprisingly wonderful scent! Terrible (i.e. NO) packaging!
The scent is amazing! I was highly skeptical due to the strong star anise scent, but once it had burned for an hour the odor was very therapeutic! So glad I gave this a shot. That being said, the packaging was TERRIBLE! Literally, the candle tin was tossed into the box; no cushion, no padding, nothing. Therefore, the candle looks quite beaten up with the dents from shipping! However, the candle itself is wonderful.

Smells like licorice, though not too strong. It did arrive a bit melted, but didn't seem to hurt it.

Weak Scent
Black Candle Society Natural Soy Candle, Empress (Star Anise/Rosewood), 6 oz Seems to burn slowly but the scent is faint.
