Excellent quality, stylish and large
Absolutely love this shower cap! Worth every penny of the price. Excellent quality because: it's well made; hard wearing; the cloth lining stops my hair going frizzy; the pattern is great because it has texture that actually looks like animal skin; the colours are vibrant but still subtle; colour coordinates with my bathroom; its large enough for my big hair.Only slight criticism is that it could be just a tiny bit larger but it does cover my hair.Highly recommended!

shower cap
Yes I would recommend this shower cap. It had good reviews, which persuaded me to pay a bit extra & buy it. I'm glad I did. I have quite long, thick hair & it covers it well & keeps it dry. Good quality product. thanks

No more wet hair
Expensive but the only shower cap that actually worked. No more wet hair at the back. However it is extremely tight and would leave a deep mark which wouldn't go away for ages.To avoid it I put the head band first and place shower cap on top, problem solved.Wish there were more safisticated colours available so I wouldn't have to hide it from sight.

READ THIS IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON USING THIS BETTY DAIN SHOWER HAT FOR HAIR TREATMENTS
As one of the more 'fashionable' (are shower hats ever really fashionable?!) shower hats on Amazon, this is also one of the most expensive, at just over ÂŁ10 depending on retailer. The question is: Is this item really as valuable as its high value price tag? In my recent experience of it, yes, it is, depending on how you wish to use it.As a lady with long (bust length) highlighted, fairly dry hair, I frequently massage either coconut oil or olive oil into my hair, and leave it to sit for 1 - 3 hours (occasionally longer / overnight) before washing it out with shampoo, followed by conditioner. These two oils are so far the only two oils which have been scientifically proven to penetrate into the cortex of your hair strands. Using coconut oil BEFORE washing helps improve the condition of your hair because it prevents too much water from entering your cortex, thus reducing damage from swelling and HYGRAL FATIGUE. The extra oil on the surface of the hair also seems to prevent the shampoo from completely stripping, and overly drying, the hair. Thus, you are left with a more shiny, healthy looking barnet (in my experience, anyway!).Up until now, I had always asked my partner to lovingly wrap my head in clingfilm (how glamorous!) whilst performing these oil treatments, both to prevent the oil dripping onto things, and to aid in the absorption of the oil into the hair, since the heat from this kind of insulating turban speeds things up. Whilst the plastic wrap method is both cheap and effective, it is also rather wasteful, as well as not being the most alluring! Further, cling film when used in this way will often rise up and distort in shape, before falling off your head completely, requiring replacement. What a faff!POSITIVESThis shower cap is much MUCH better than either plastic wrap or cheapo caps!1. It accommodates all of my hair2. The elastic band which secures the cap around my head is snug enough to not allow any of my hair to escape, nor the hat to fall off3. The inner fabric is comfortable3. It looks nice. For a shower cap, anyway.NEGATIVES1. The elastic is so tight that it hurts slightly, and leaves a red mark where it has been hugging your head2. I didn't read the product description carefully enough, and so I wasn't anticipating that the inside of the shower cap would be a thick towelling-type material. Whilst the toweling no-doubt aids in comfort, and would probably be ideal for somebody who plans to use this shower cap as intended (purely as a means of keeping their hair dry whilst in the shower), for people who want to use the cap for hair treatments, the toweling presents a problem. Your hair goop will make the toweling soggy with product, and fairly gross, meaning that you'll need to wash the cap thoroughly after each use.To get around this, you can do what I've done, and turn the shower cap inside out so that only the plastic waterproof side will be in contact with your hair treatments. The obvious downside to that is that the nice leopard print outer will then be hidden, turning your fairly chic cap into something that now resembles a fluffy, canary-yellow mushroom.Ho hum. The pains of vanity! ;-)

At last a shower cap that actually covers all my hair and without flattening it down. This is a lovely product and worth paying that bit more than I would normally pay for the usual chain store shower caps. This one has a lovely terry lining and is beautifully made. Initially it had a faintly unpleasant smell which I took to be the plastic but thankfully that has worn off with use.

This is a very good quality shower cap and a good large size
This is a very good quality shower cap and a good large size. Unfortunately it had the most unpleasant smell and I had to wash it a few times to start with to get it out, but once the smell had gone a pleasure to use.

Happy with my shower hat
Best shower hat I have ever had. I bought it because I have lots of long hair and all the others I tried were too small. This one has lots of body too so I feel it will last a long time. Will never buy any other make again as long as Betty Dain keeps going.

Smelly shower cap
This is a good shower cap but it really does smell bad. The only comparable smell I can think of is dead rotted frogspawn. I put it in the washing machine for a couple of cycles then hung it outdoors for a fortnight or so, which helped a little, then held my breath and used it anyway. The size and construction is good, I seem to have a big head as no other caps fit as well.

Good fit & durability
This is my 2nd Betty Bain shower copy. The 1st one was great until I made the mistake of hanging it up when wet and it stretched out way too much to wear. This shower cap is a different color, but the same great fit. It is not too tight on the forehead & has a good terry cloth liner. The exterior is not as noisy as other caps which I appreciate. I love that is is washable. I wash & dry it every week with the towels.

🏆 The Best 🏆
So I had one of these from about 10 years ago, and the elastic finally gave up. I wanted to find one just like it so I was so happy to see this on Amazon. Im not sure if it’s the same manufacturer or not, but when this arrived it looks identical. I have a lot of long hair and this holds all of it with lots of room to spare. Completely waterproof. The elastic makes a nice seal around your face so no water gets in. I love the soft terry cloth lining. Let’s hope this one lasts 10 years too. This cap checks every box and is at a great price. 5 stars, 100%

Elastic sprung on yet another one
I have lost track of how many of these I have purchased that have had the elastic sprung within six months. I officially give up. The only reason I kept buying them is because they have cute prints, but for this price one would hope you would get a year out of it. There is no way to contact the company either. I ended up buying a $5 cap from the chemist and it has already outlasted every one of these I have ever thrown my money away on.

The lining is the difference.
I had initially gave this review 3 stars, but then change my mind and thought since there is no 3.5 star rating. I will give it the full 4. HahaI had gone with the leopard print option since my first choice was not available, and was not determined as to when it would be in stock. I needed a shower cap that had terry cloth/towel lining in it to prevent humidity or steam penetrating the cap. I made this purchase option based on other reviews. The lining in this shower, cap is great, it stops any humidity reaching the hair. the elastic band around the cap is quite tight which in my experience I prefer over a loose band.I did find that the back of my hairline where the hairline meets the neck does get a bit wet, but I don’t think that is preventable with any shower cap when you move your neck. The only reason I did not give this a full 5 stars is because once the shower cap has been under the running water head for a few minutes, it does get quite wet and holds the wetness. Even though it does not penetrate the, cap or at least not right away I do find that when I’m getting out of the shower, the cap Holds a lot of water making it a bit of a pain when taking it off.I would suggest drying the shower cap on top with a towel before taking it off, as ridiculous as that sounds! you do need to do so in order to not have any of the water drench your hair.. while you’re taking it off. That’s about the only real complaint I have! It as well. Takes a while to dry, so I would suggest leaving it to dry somewhere you can allow it to drip and aerate.
