Are these supposed to have, 1/2 way along, a bump? My professional musician son has been unable to string these onto my violin bass,.

This violin bass was invented by Hohner as were the strings for them. You must only use the specialised strings that are made to fit this excellent bass. I have one D Tuned string still in the 1965 packet it was sold in. NOT FOR SALE! The strings are are easy to find in music shop or or on Internet. God luck. Im 77 years old bass player since 1958

I have an Epiphone EB0 which has a 30.5 scale - I find mediums are perfect, for me short is just too short but it depends on the string length to the bridge and the string length from the nut to the machine heads
