Great product for kids and adults who want to see what ants do !

This is the second Ant Farm I received; the first arrived with most of the accessories missing (most importantly, the water tube). They did replace the kit immediately; this one has everything, including some items I can't figure out (small tube of white powder, little metal tray). The instructions are terrible. After a lot of looking around and figuring things out, I realized that the sand filling hole was in the back (even though the illustration for this particular shaped item showed it as being in the top); I was able to use the small funnel to get the main body of the Ant Farm full, with a ridiculous amount of work (to get it compacted, which it needs to be for the ants to tunnel, you have to continually shake the sand down, try angle the funnel, and at the end, add only a tiny amount at a time). All of that could have been eliminated by having the filling hole at the top. At least there was enough sand included.The water tube has a blue stopper which was hard and too large; however, after soaking it, I was able to insert it into the tube. This doesn't come with ants; I'm not too sure how I'm going to get some of our local ones into the farm, but I'm sure I'll figure it out! (I have some test tubes, and I think I'll be able to use those to catch and store the ants.) There are no instructions about what to feed the ants; according to online sites, they should eat sugar or honey; we'll see.I will update this review after my Outdoor Science students use it. (Parents, teachers; be aware that you will certainly need to assemble this for your students.)

Missing holes for the sand....water leaks from the bottom even after making sure it was tight and secure. Other than that, the kid loved it.

The media could not be loaded.  The product is cute and small but it’s missing a bolt

Bought for my 11 year old and he absolutely loved it. Somehow he found a queen ant in our yard and this thing has made a colony of ants already. He loves it!

I really like this antfarm after figuring out how to fill it, how to add the water tube, and how to add the ants.Adding sand was a royal pain even with the funnel.There is a small blue seal for the water tube that barely let's the water leak into the antfarm.If you don't use that little blue piece, the farm will leak from the bottom, your sand will be wet for approximately a week and it's just overall frustrating.I wish the material used to seal the farm shut was waterproof, it would definitely bring this product to a 4 star review. 5 star if the instructions were also clear.

They didn’t drill the hole to add sand . No ants arrived either .

Only downside is getting the sand in, the hole needs to be at the top, and angled funnel, or a shorter tipped funnel and bigger cup would be helpful. My son is very excited for his ants to arrive.
