I wanted a warm coat with a warm insulated hood that fits well and is durable. It succeeds on all counts.The exterior material is a strong canvas that is somewhat stiff. The quilted lining is smooth and slick making it easy to slip on and off which I appreciate very much. The coat is somewhat heavy, but that is what contributes to its feeling of warmth and protection. It also has lots of pockets. Two large zippered chest pockets, two very large flap pockets, two hand warming pockets and a zippered hidden pocket. There is an adjustable draw cord at the waist on the interior of the coat.I really am pleased with this coat. I hate going out in the cold, but now I almost look forward to it wearing this coat.

The coat is warm in zero temperatures, has very durable shell, lots of pockets with zippers, and very secure velcro (it's a fight to get some pockets open). If the coat had cost $100 more I'd have still been satisfied.Fit: I am 5' 10" 150-160lbs (slim/athletic build) and a Mens Large with light clothing underneath (shirt & long underwear) provides the desired freedom of movement without being bulky. The sholders fit as they should and do not hang down the arms. The hood is perfect for my head & neck height (no hanging from my head & pressing down, or extra length that leaves a void for cold air to sweep in). I would STRONGLY advise ordering up in size, as I, with my build, am what would be descrbed as a "Medium" for proper fit in non-outerwear clothing.

Yes, I am a woman that ordered a men's jacket. This jacket is everything that I was looking for. I am a size 3XL and I ordered this online because they don't have 3XL in the store. I wanted something extremely warm that covered my face partially and that was not the slippery material on the outside. The 3XL fits to size on a plus size woman. It is very warm and seems durable. I have not worn it outside yet but I assume it will be fine. I love that the hood comes down towards my face for protection from wind. There are four pockets on the outside and there is a pocket on the inside. The pockets are not as fuzzy and warm as I thought they would be however that is why God invented gloves.The one CONCERN I HAVE is the ZIPPER. I read reviews about Eddie bauers zippers and they tend to break. I am concerned that the zipper will break because the quality of the zipper is not as good as the rest of the jacket. I did contact customer service to ask if they have a warranty on the zipper and they told me that if I get it tailored and bring that into one of the stores they would reimburse me up to $50. This is an Eddie Bauer policy.The jacket is on the heavier side but that is what I wanted. I wanted a feeling that I was indestructible.Overall I am very happy with this jacket and if something changes I will change my review

I always worry when buying clothing online, especially when the item has a price tag over $100. Thankfully my worries were unfounded with this purchase! The jacket fits perfectly (I'm 5'10" 200lbs. and I ordered an XL), it definitely keeps me warm (with the wind chill it was 12° this morning here in Ohio), and I love all the pockets this jacket has!! Also love that the faux fur is detachable from the hood. I would definitely recommend this jacket to any guy looking for a good quality winter jacket, it is definitely worth every penny spent.

I needed a warm jacket to take up into freezing conditions for a hike up Kilimanjaro. This jacket was super warm. It was so warm that, to remain comfortable, I only needed a regular t-shirt for a base layer.

Great jacket and really warm. I bought it to go to the mountains with. Kept me warm even in single digit temperature. I like it.The fur made me look all fancy up in Vail with the rich folks. For those who just cringed at the fur comment don't worry it's fake. Unfortunately no animals were harmed in the making of this jacket. Rich people can spot your fake fur and they will call you out on it lol.

I'm 185cm (6'1") and 78kg (178lb) and tall M is perfect. Normal L is too wide and M has too short sleeves for me.Pros:I live in upstate NY and this jacket changed my life. I should have bought it years ago when I moved here. The length, the down and the puffiness makes all the difference. I was using ski jacket with artificial fiber fill and it cannot even compare. I was wearing fleece underneath, hat and still was cold. With this jacket, all you need is a shirt. No sweater or hat or scarf needed. If anything, it's sometimes too warm. When I walk to work, after 20 mins, I'm too warm. It doesn't have underarm venting or anything like that.It has tons of pockets.Cons:The pockets are not very good. The big front have Velcro so strong that it's hard to open. The lower hand pockets are too low. It's hard to put hands in them and keep them warm. The upper chest pockets are too small and too high to keep hands in them.The wallet/phone chest pockets is for some strange reason inside the zipper. It would be perfect for phone but you have to open the jacket to get to it. That's a bad design. My other jacket has that pocket under the flap but above the zipper.The hood is good only with no wind. The adjustment is only in the back. No strings around the perimeter.The fake fur is a joke. It looks bad, it's itchy, gets in my face and doesn't blocks the wind well. It should be a real fur like it's on Canada Goose jackets. It's would be a totally different story.The fabric is stiff and cheap looking.Ok, that's a lot of Cons but still, I love the jacket. The cons should be taken as a constructive criticism to improve the next versions. Interestingly, many of the suggested design changes are actually present on other EB jackets. So they know how to do it right.Over all, the jacket looks and function well. Canada Goose looks much better but then it costs 5x more...

Ordered a Medium Regular for my Husband. I think it fits as it should. Really well made, Good quality material, and a really good weight to it. Should be really warm. I ordered the colour Capers, but for some reason I thought said Grey, it looked grey in the picture. I tried to cancel the order when I realized it was not grey, but it was too late. So the coat came and my husband likes it. it is a light shade of army green. We will keep it because there is no grey and the price has gone up by $75.00, so it's not worth the hassle of trying to exchange it. I think it's a really good price for the quality of the coat.
