Candle by the Hour 80-Hour Citronella Candle Refill, Eco-friendly Natural Beeswax with Cotton Wick,Yellow

I purchased this candle to use at night when falling asleep. Candles help me fall asleep, but I found I was waking up too many times the next morning with a candle still burning 😬. This candle should help when I fall asleep before blowing out the candle.I tested it twice today and it burns a bit less than the stated 20 min/in, but not much. At about two inches, it burned for almost 36 minutes. This is perfect and will be much more economical for regular usage.I read several bad reviews, but the candle sent was obviously beeswax, leaves no drip behind, and easily molds to bend into clip (instructions say to warm it in palms first.) There was a lot of styrofoam in package but I’m not sure how that would be avoidable when they are trying to protect candle and glass. Overall I’m so happy that they offer this product and it ended up being exactly as described. I seriously want one for each room, and maybe I will try out the other colors for refills.

burns a little faster than they say … says about 20min per inch was more like 30mins for 2inchs but its cool and a good gift

Stand is a little cheap and the wax coil burns quicker than was suggested. I get a lot of comments and compliments on it though!

Burns too fast

Interesting candle - makes a great table centerpiece.Still burning the supplied candle 18 months after but TBH - do not use that often. Can be a pain to re-light if you don't give enough candle to start as the copper cut-off gets hot

More a decorative candle than useful due to the fact you have to keep feeding the candle into the holder, rather inconvenient due to quickly burning and high wick flame.

This candle looks very nice and we like it, but as the other reviews state, it burns very quickly. If you have 1-2 inches of wick above the clamp, it maybe takes 30 minutes to burn through.

This is advertised as beeswax and it is nothing of the kind - it is the same off-white stuff that cheap penny candles are made of. It also stinks to high heaven which is not surprising as the box states "RED CINNAMON" - and that is NOT mentioned in the description.

No way this is going to burn for 80 hours as advertised. 2" burns in 10 minutes. Not the 20 minutes as stated in the product information. Certainly not 100% beeswax either. Dissapointing dispute a great misleading marketing scheme.This thing is for looks only.

My first time to burn I pulled up 1.5" (measured) to check on the burn time. Three inches is supposed to burn in one hour, so 1.5" would burn 30 minutes.I'm a beekeeper and I do make candles and sell them but I can't make these specialized candles. I love this antique idea of having a courtship candle. Back in the day, the parents would set the candle length for the burn time. Then the suitor would visit and then when the candle self-snuffs, it's his time for him to leave. These courtship candles self snuff whereas the wrought iron ones burn by the hour but don't snuff.Being beeswax, depending on where you live, if the wax is cold it can break when you pull on it but it'll heat up incredibly quickly just from the heat of your fingers. So if you wrap your fingers around the wax for just a few seconds before you pull it up that will prevent breakage.It burned with a nice flame with no drafts which will speed up burn time. I didn't order the glass cylinder, mostly because I know beeswax burns better with lots of access to oxygen. The unit is about 10" tall. The copper is lovely and the whole thing looks well made.The candle burned for 35 minutes and then self-snuffed. So it was 5 minutes more than the estimate. Love this old fashioned candle.

This came shipped only in its original box - which is odd for a relatively fragile item. I returned it. To me it did not appear as elegant or practical as the pictures suggested. There is a significant apparatus to make this candle work. I feared that as the candle burns down the apparatus would overwhelm the candle aspect. The candle itself was much less substantial than I expected.

Do not buy. Doesn't effectively keep the bugs away. It isn't easy to thread through the clip and it burns much faster than expected. I ended up trashing it after 2 uses as it was absolutely worthless.
