Sharp R272KM Solo Touch Control Microwave, 20 Litre capacity, 800W, Black

I think I’ve reviewed this appliance before but among so many other reviews I can’t find my own to edit it. This is an excellent microwave that still functions perfectly after more than five years. The controls and functions are fine and easy to use once you get the hang of it. Reading the manual is always a good idea. BUT... It has just one weakness, which is the interior enamelling. The steel under the paint is prone to rust and cause the the finish to peel off; indeed on the “roof” inside it is bubbling and occasional bits have fallen off into the food or drink being heated. For this reason I have to throw away an otherwise perfectly good appliance. It’s a shame because In every other respect I really like it.

Much better than the Tower microwave we originally purchased and returned. It functions well, has side ventilation so I use the top to store my coffee and tea. Great little thing that fits a standard dinner plate and we have not had any issues with it. The timer is handy, the buttons feel sturdy and it cooks everything as it should.

We wanted a compact microwave and this is definitely that. Looks good on the side and very easy to use. Despite having checked the dimensions carefully we weren't prepared for the fact that a normal dinner plate will only fit in it if you tip it a bit sideways. Not a major issue unless you're reheating something a bit sloppy I suppose but worth bearing in mind.

Bought for my mum, when her previous one gave up after about twenty years of hard graft! She wanted another Sharp so that the controls would be the same, and it has been very easy for her to start using this one. Space is also at a premium in her kitchen, and this fits in neatly but is still large enough to take everything that she wants to microwave. It might not take an enormous dinner plate of the modern kind, but it fits mum's dinner plates, porridge bowls, pyrex bowls etc. very nicely. It looks clean and is easy to keep clean too. All in all a good purchase.

Very pleased with this little microwave, bought it to replace a new flatbed microwave that was absolutely useless. This one is excellent value, easy to use and does the job.

Basic but with style. Wanted a small microwave as only gets used to re-heat and this one is perfect. It actually has a control button for perfectly re-heating a plated meal. Simple to use. It does come with easy controls for cooking popcorn, jacket potatoes and pizza, making this perfect for a student bedsit.

My last Sharp microwave lasted 27yrs so I decided once again to go with Sharp as most of small microwaves would not take my meat plates of 261/2cm or were too low for my jug of 12cm. With this one I can fit in both my plate and jug, seperately of course. I only had manual operating but have got used with this one now having had it since 21st May and am getting to like all it has to offer compared with my old model.

We bought this microwave thinking it would be the one for us , there is only my wife and i at home so it isn't used all the time .We bought it in 2018 and within twelve months it was rusty as you can see but also going rusty on the inside .We keep it clean but it still lost its paint and rust appeared . I wont be buying Sharp products again if this is the quality .
