Holds my DSLR camera and prime lenses with no effort. I recommend this purchase, especially for compact tripods with non-articulating mounts. The build quality is exceptional and to be honest, unbelievable! It's made of quality metal and the dial is smooth. You can turn it just enough to where there is enough resistance to hold equipment in place, yet still allowing for movement when adjusting your composition.

I bought this for my platypod. Needs an adaptor or platypod level to mount. I have my sony 24-105 lens mounted with no issues of weakness and drooping.

Made entirely of metal. Has a little weight to it but worth it. Holds my 8 lb rig with no problems. Lock is strong. The locking ring that connects the device to the camera is also aluminum. Entire device seems to be well made. I’ll update if it junks out on me. Price fits well.

Fantastic unit with cold shoe and swivel balk with screw on top. Excellent quality metal made, nor cheap plastic. Highly recommend!
