There are always in these picture you may not know or be aware of, another enjoyable plus. As I've said they are outstanding and will find a place on any artlovers bookshelf.If your just getting into great artists then they are the perfect place to start. I already have books on the work of Turner,Renoir and Cezanne as well as the one being reviewed and they are all of the highest quality. Enjoy great artists and their work, then enjoy these uniformly excellent books of the masters !

I am a keen amateur painter and know it is good to view the works of the masters in order to train one's eye and appreciate the beauty of what they created. Degas is a unique and great painter in my opinion and this book is a reasonably priced way of getting to know his works.

All of the books in this series represent excellent value for money. I have several titles now. They are all well written and the print quality is of a high standard.

Beautiful pictures and quote informative. However abit expensive for a hardback. Sits nice on my shelf with the rest of my art books. If your into degas as much as I am the money won't mean anything and you've made a good choice.Took abit of time to come and came in good condition.

A very good account of Degas and his work even for a novice like myself I found this book enjoyable and informative

This is a favourite artist of mine as I love his images of ballet dancers in the studio and on the stage it is a great book and has lots of gorgeous images to look at it also gives a history of the artist.

A really lovely book - packed with information about the great man and with many colour pictures, some of which were new to me - highly recommended.

It has been a privilege to learn and see some of the genious Degas.

Every books in this series from annes publishing have a unique attractions. I am highly highly influenced and inspired from the books. It is amazing to see Great of greatest master painters paintings , drawings ,sketches , sculptures in one collection . must buy and collectible item .

Edgar Degas is one of my favourite impressionist painters!!! His range of subjects; and his prolific attention to his art is a tribute to the life and work of this man. This book is well written and contain many insightful and enlightening on his life which I have heretofore never knew. The pictures are well photographed and printed with adjoining transcripts of enlightenment. It will enrich my home library for many years to come!!!

i found this book very complete with excellent color reproductions. The text added much insight into the man and his times which is usually lacking in museum exhibits. The author avoids being overly technical which is a fault with many art history books. I strongly recommend this book as well as the series of "Life and Works in 500 Images" books.
