Many of the reviews note that it is difficult to clean the distiller. There are often white dots on the bottom of the distiller. I tried paper towels - they did not work. Then I thought it might help to use the "rubber" spatula. It works every time.First, try not to let the distiller run dry. While it shuts itself off, with my unit, it does so when it is almost dry. You do not want the distiller to be almost dry because more gunk will be on the bottom of it.After distilling, make sure there is an inch or two of water. If not enough, use a glass to add a little water. Then, put a small amount of cleaning powder on the bottom of the unit. I try to put it directly on the white spots. Then use the spatula back and forth over the area that needs cleaning. It sometimes takes several strokes to get the job done. If an area does not get clean enough, plug in and turn on the unit. Then use the spatula again. It should take at most 30 seconds of heat to get things clean. After plugging in the distiller, you might need another pinch of the cleaning powder.This method makes it easy to clean the distiller. The manufacturer ought to include a spatula in the box. If I had not thought of using the spatula, I would be less pleased with the distiller than I am.

I bought this because of issues with stock at stores. It takes around 4 hours to make 4 liters using hot water.I guess my only complaint is that the fan is louder than I thought. I also didn’t know that you need charcoal filters and I will purchase some next.

I use distilled water for vaporizers in the dry winter months. It’s been so hard to find distilled water lately. And having bottles of distilled water on hand is annoying. I figure this appliance will pay for itself this season. I’m so happy with it. I told other family members about it and at least one made the purchase too. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Sure you can do this with two pots and a lid--but have you tried? Easy to tip over the inside pot and then you have to start over...This was an investment but now I know I have something to use for my C-Pap machine. I buy the distilled water when I can, but it continues to be hard to find. And this does make a gallon in about an hour.

this product is easy to use and clean. The taste of the distilled water is much better I think than the store bought ones.

I got this product because I drink lots of distilled water. It seems that the stores are having a hard time keeping distilled water on the shelf. Now I can distill my own water and not have to depend on the stores. I clean it between each use and the water tastes great. It don't take up much counter space as I have a small kitchen with limited counter space.the only thing I see that could be improved is a better way to connect the discharge port to the collection jug.

This is a great machine for making distilled water - especially if you want to save the money and/or the plastic bottles. I removed a star because trying to get water out of the jug they give you when it's full is very difficult. I'm just glad I kept the jug I bought before this arrived. (I was going to use it for when the water got low so I could refill before I ran out.) I found that I need to pour some from the "new" jug into the old (using a funnel, or it will get all over the place) to "start" and that makes it much easier to use all the water. Also, even though the machine turns off automatically, hitting the "On" button when you first plug it in does absolutely nothing.
