Brand new handmade mate gourd (cup). The interior is NOT treated or sealed. Do not put boiling water in the gourd as it can cause the gourd to crack. How to Cure a Mate Cup: 1-Fill the mate-gourd with a used and wet brew. 2-Pour a shot of hot water (not boiling) and let it rest for one whole day. 3-Remove the yerba and rinse the gourd with warm water. 4-Scrape the inner walls with a proper tool to take off the softened skin. 5-Repeat the above steps 4-6 times. 6-Now you are ready to go. Enjoy drinking mate in your cured gourd.
