Fab product if a touch on the pricey side.
I winced when I clicked buy as I've never spent this kind of money on kegs before. However I had another Yorkshire 3 peaks walk looming and the National not long after. I remember making the mistake some years back of wearing cotton kegs for long walks and they are awful. They soak up sweat, chafe and end up constantly being eaten by your bum cheeks. You then spend every 10 minutes digging them out. For a while I simply walked commando which helped loads. However when it's a touch cool outside that's no fun either. So ended up with these. They fit brilliantly and most importantly stay put. Nice and light and don't soak up sweat. You actually forget you have them on. I now use them for running as well. I might (might) treat myself to another pair soon. Great product if a touch pricey. I also make sure I follow the washing instructions to the letter as well.

The ones to buy
I love merino wool and have a wardrobe full of the stuff (well, almost!). Over the years I have tried lots of different boxers: The original Icebreaker boxers were great, but then they changed the design which ruined them: the current version is uncomfortable for an (average) male anatomy. Howies boxers are extremely poorly made and they fell apart after a couple of months. EDZ boxers are superbly made and comfortable but for some strange reason they have stopped mking the thin 150g boxers and now only offer a thicker, warmer (and for me, uncomfortable) 200g version. So that leaves the Smartwool boxers... I have three pairs and have found then to be a superb fit and very well made: a thin and comfortble 150g material, anatomically acurate pouch that is double lined and a wide elastic waistband. They fit into the waist line so cold spots are eliminated whilst in use. The bottom line? These are the ones to buy.

The merino pants to buy
This is the best pair of underpants I’ve ever owned. Bought them originally with hiking in mind, because you can’t always change your pants, and wool stays fresh longer than other fabrics. I already knew wool wicks both moisture and odours, after wearing wool socks and shirts on the trail. And now, by testing out these pants and others similar, I’ve proved to myself that woollen underpants are borderline miraculous in that respect, so I’ll never wear any other type again. In September, I ordered wool pants from 4 different brands on Amazon. They were expensive but all impressed me. Those from Dilling, though, felt on the tight side and the wool coarser. Those from Brass Monkeys were excellent but the waist band is white on the inside and has an annoying logo. The best two pairs were these from Smartwool and the Anatomica ones from Icebreaker. Since then, those are the only two pairs of underpants I’ve worn, and both have proved awesome. But the Smartwool pair have the edge for me because they've a fly. And the fly’s so well designed it doesn’t compromise the smoothness of the fit or cause any rubbing. When I inspect these and the Icebreakers today after over 4 months of use (averaging over 2 months per pair), they both still look brand new. I’ve been handwashing them very gently, using a little organic liquid soap--no wringing, just rolling and squeezing. Treated like this, they’ve stayed in beautiful condition, with no rubbing, frays, dulling, or pilling. So, therefore, despite the price, they’re starting to prove good value. With merino pants, well cared for, one can reduce the old pants collection considerably. My cotton ones have all gone to recycling now, opening lots of space in the drawer. I no longer have “best pants”, because quality merinos can be worn for all occasions: at home, at work, for sport, for hiking, for dates. So, apart from anything else, they’re a minimalist’s dream.

Very comfy. Not in the same league as icebreaker but obviously cheaper.

A change for the worse?
I have several XL pairs of these briefs and love them. I purchased four new pairs recently (all labelled as produced in December 2019) and unfortunately they have been cut slightly smaller. This means they are tighter than the rest and uncomfortable to wear. All are being returned.

Great hiking pants
Bought these with multi day hiking I'm mind. They're really comfy and you can wear them for prolonged periods in comfort as they are great at wicking sweat away.At this price I hope they'll last a long time.If they weren't so expensive I'd buy more and use them as my everyday strides

The best
These are the best boxer briefs on the market! Soft, comfortable, don’t ride up, and retain their shape unlike other merino boxers.

My preferred travel underwear from below freezing to supper hot
Merino is my best choice for travel underwear - long or short. Very comfortable, I have worn it from about -10C to +45C. Washes easy by hand and dries in 4-6hrs in warm and dry conditions. Hang straight and don’t need (critical for travel). I travel with 3-4 pcs and wash about every other day. Very expensive for underwear, but helps travel light, comfy and clean. Hint: avoid underpants without front opening if using motorcycle or ski or similar suits/overalls.

50 dollars for something that should be 10 dollars.
About 6 months ago I bought a pair of Smartwool underwear I will say they are very comfortable although I was a bit uncomfortable spending $50 on pair of underwear. My entire life I’ve just bought the cheapest value pack of Hanes underwear at Walmart and they have done me right I’ve got pairs that are 4 years old still going strong. This leads me to the Smartwool pair I got about 6 months ago. They already have a big hole in the crotch with very minimal wear and I feel as if I spend 50 dollars on a pair of underwear they should easily outlast the cheapest underwear at Walmart. Unfortunately that’s not the case, even though I’ve had great success wearing their socks for years now but I digress. 50 dollars almost feels like highway robbery at this point I’m about 95% sure I could spend 50 dollars on value packs of underwear today and never have to buy underwear again in my life. If you’re considering buying this you better be rich, or never spend 50 bucks on this pair of underwear.
