Tamale!
Tastes very much like the real thing. Filled them with pork and used red sauce. I was pleasantly surprised how good they actually were. Will buy again.

Great taste
The media could not be loaded. Very easy to make, great flavor! It is a very good alternative. Masa is soft, and easy to spread. I left mine cooking a little longer than 60 min. I will repurchase.

Yum
I made the Chicken Tamale bake recipe shown here It was so yummy. If I didn't already know it was keto I wouldn't have known. Usually, keto-baked goods taste a bit off to me or have an aftertaste. It was so easy to make I will be buying to keep on hand. I am a bit too lazy to try it as an actual tamale masa but one day I will try it lol.I made a few changes to the recipe. I didn't have a 9x9 pan so I used 9x13 and it worked just fine. I did use more taco seasoning than the recipe suggested. We used lard just for kicks, extra chicken, and I cut up Roma tomatoes because cherry tomatoes are more expensive where I am from. Used 2 cups of cheese but I think I ended up using more because I had a bigger pan. Other than that followed the rest of the instructions.

Not for me
Look, if you need to be gluten free or are doing keto for medical or weight loss reasons, this certainly works. But it’s just almond flour and powdered eggs. No corn meal at all. I can always taste the almonds in almond flour, so need to use in recipes where that is okay. Usually baking. Almond tasting tamales are not okay. If one has celiac and needs to be GF, just use real corn meal from a company that works to have no cross contamination. If you’re doing a keto diet, an egg wrapper would be just as easy and would taste better. Will not purchase this again.

Not as good as regular
I went out of my way to make these tamales as I am allergic to nuts but a friend is keto and wanted some (so gloves, mask and all separate disposable products) only to find out that these are very crumbly and don't hold together well. My friend didn't like the texture or the flavor and said she'd just eat the traditional kind. I think because everyone's different it's worth trying if you're keto for health reasons but otherwise stick to the tried and true.

Took me a long time to figure this out
Update: The next day my tamale pie tasted much better. I also added more cheese, onions, tomatoes, and salsa on top, but still . . . Overall it was pretty good. I came back to raise my rating to 4 stars. The product does work with this, and could be especially helpful if you have dietary restrictions.Original review: I never made tamales before and assumed this was a complete kit. Big mistake. The instructions are just to make a dough with this. Then what? I had to look up how to make tamales, then spent the next 3 weeks searching for ingredients in all my local supermarkets. To no avail. Then I read the reviews and some reviewers were making tamale pie. Okay . . . A possibility. Only . . . What’s a tamale pie? I had to research that and learned at least no pie crust was needed. Then I had to search out all the specialty items needed for the pie. And figure out a substitute for lard, which I’ll never buy, to make the dough topping. Some reviewers said they used butter. Melted butter? I took a chance and used that.Well, I finally made this thing and have to say I wasn’t crazy about it. I sampled the inside of the pie. Wasn’t bad, not great. I sampled the product dough separately. I definitely tasted the almond flour but it seemed more like something I would want to use in a cake. Except for it being very salty. Then I baked it all together and did not like the combination. It wasn’t bad, and my husband did like it, but I really didn’t. This whole process took me more than a month. I’ll admit, a lot of that was due to my own unawareness of things. But after all that I think I found a new dish. I’d never even heard of tamale pie before. I will experiment with the recipe though, and I think the more traditional corn product would make a much better topping. I would not recommend this, though it could work if you needed this for dietary reasons.

What a hot Tamale!
Omg! Just like the high carb tamales I used to make before I had to go low carb for health reasons. The masa tastes great. I used pork lard from the pork butt I used for the filling. Thank you so much for bringing this product to the market.

Product Arrived Damaged/Refused to Send a Replacement
Product was completely damaged, tried to order a replacement but that seems to be impossible. Probably a good product if I were able to actually use it.
