Functions as needed, helps provide a little bit more independence
With a few minor tweaks the lift became a perfect motorized assistance in improving and maintaing independence for my elderly father.Legs were to short for my toilet (19") which is above standard. (Provided Legs would be fine on a standard toilet) Ordered longer 10mm bolts to replace bolts in legs. Bolts that secured the toilet seat to the frame were long and cheap (broke first test). Replaced bolts with shorter bolt, thicker (7mm) and installed 4 (2 each side) instead of 2.When using to go up you must push down first and then go up when bottomed out.The toilet lift does lift adequately a 200lb man making it easier to lift self and grab walker.

Definitely help up
I like the product. It makes things easier for me. I no longer have to try and pick my husband up from the stool up to standing(he's 6'6" by the way, I'm 5'3") get his pants up and then to his chair. We did place a couple of no slip strips in front of the stool to keep his shoes from sliding and a thin rubber no slip strip at the front of the stool so he wouldn't slid as it lifted. I think this would also work great for someone that is still able to get around on there own just problems with the initial lift up.

Horrible piece of equipment
Purchased this from my elderly mother, who is going in for surgery and needs assistance. After receiving this package without any clear date as to when we would receive it. The instructions I would rate 4 out of 10.It took about 45 minutes to assemble and it weighs roughly 58 pounds. After assembling, it turns out that this unit requires 220 Volts AC. Not the regular 110 volts we have here in the US. Despite that, it still comes with a regular 110 plug. The fact it needs double the voltage, the motors do not have sufficient power to properly function. In our experience, they did not function at all, if someone was seated. No one was seated, it would function somewhat . Nowhere in the item description or in the manual itself does it state anything about it being a 220 V input. Very dissatisfied with this seller, the description and the lack of communication when I attempted to call for tech-support, and after being on hold for over 15 minutes, someone picked up the phone mocked me and hung up
