So cute!!! Love these pastry cutters. Even if your pie is a flop, it will look terrific decorated with these cutouts. | The spring-loaded plunger/mechanism is smooth. Impression stamp is nice and clear. | I tend to roll my pie dough pretty thin but these cutters seem to do better if the dough is just a little bit on the thicker side. | Only downside, this decorative process is a little tedious and definitely takes more time than rolling out a top crust and plopping it on top.Side thoughts: Using an 11-inch tart pan and the cutters for the top crust, I found that making a triple crust amount of dough, kept me from having to re-roll scraps so much (thereby overworking the dough). | Place the dough cutouts in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up making them easier to handle. | And just before you pop your creation into the oven, brush the top with either whole milk or a beaten egg yolk to get a lovely brown color.TheKitchn dot com has a great article on this process. I’ve only used the strawberry. I don’t know what I would do without the plunger, since the fondant I used was really soft.

Nice cookie cutters, sturdy but somewhat smaller than I thought.

I use these for pie decorations and they imprint the crust well. Beautiful, well made, easy to clean.

Perfect impressions for the top of a pie and easy to use! Theme of this set versatile for me as well.
