Wealthy friends recommended this book, so I had high expectations and read it in one sitting. My first impression was skepticism which turned to anger as I saw the charts and followed the math. I'll never think the same way I did before reading it and I'll always wonder why Dave Ramsey or Suze Orman never talk about these 10 items in this way. Will Duffy does a refreshingly simple and focused job of exposing various costs, losses and interruptions to traditional investment vehicles that are not hidden but strangely never talked about. I ordered the second book as well. This is strong, important wealth building information that I must share with my kids and anyone I care about. I payed $8 for $MM of estate saving information. I'm angry that I didn't know this info sooner but happy I got it now!

Great book with straight forward analysis and examples. It would be worth twice as much if it included one more chapter of principles to minimize losses (e.g. 401k, buy and hold, no load funds, etc). A great book and worthy read nonetheless.

Will Duffy has done what most financial authors and teachers don't. He's made the complex simple! The principles he teaches are known and used by the most financially literate and successful people. Don't delay, apply these principles now. Give this book to your children. Make personal financial education part of your home teaching curriculum and greatly improve your family's financial destiny in any economy.

This book is really great at breaking down the realities of investing and how the “gains” really get affected by different but very real circumstances. Unfortunately, he teases about ways to counteract these effects, but does not go into real examples or offers hints of what or where to find these solutions.

I came to this conclusion from this book. If u factor in inflation. And everything else the book talks about. Which the news said is like 10% right now. It kinda makes u think. What's the point. So Inflation is compounding against me for the rest of my life 🤦🏻‍♂️

Really benefited from Duffy's book on mortgages but this book is a ridiculously short introduction on the subject that can be found in a much more extensive treatment in many other books. Disappointed that so many others I respect have recommended this book. Most who will read a book about compound interest are looking for much, much more. How to use simple interest to earn compound interest for example.

This book provides easy to understand, basic, foundational truths about investing I have never seen anywhere else.And at $7.99 could save you hundreds of thousands of dollars and make a huge difference in you and your families financial security.Do not pass this one up because it's not just highly recommended - This book is mandatory reading.
