Such a fun camera. Just do your research.
TL,DR: super fun camera, as someone who’s new to Polaroids. Just know what you’re buying and how to use it/be prepared to learn.Overall: 4.3/5 Stars, giving it 5 to try to balance out all the negative reviews. Here’s my general spiel:I bought this knowing that I have zero experience with Polaroids, photography, exposure, color, and all that fun stuff. I bought this mainly to mess around with the settings in the Manual mode in the app, rather than let it automatically set the settings. Also, I went into this willing to spend $2 a picture to learn how to work with aperture, shutter speed, lenses, etc. and it honestly didn’t take too long to learn some of the basics after reading through advice on reddit/google/etc. My first indoor pictures were extremely underexposed, and greenish. My first outdoor pictures were extremely overexposed. But this was because I was learning how to work with the camera! The camera itself is loads of fun, and get some quality pictures once you figure out what you’re doing lol. With the right settings and lighting, you can get really crisp and colorful images. I really only use manual mode in the app so I can learn how to fully control my camera, so I’m not super sure how good the auto settings are. BUT I’ll also say that the tripod mode is a lot of fun to use at night for some long exposures! The film shield is nice too so that you don’t need to worry about the picture getting directly exposed to light right after it prints and you have time to prepare your pocket or clear your table. You can see in my picture some of the photos that I took during my first few attempts. (I don’t want to post my better pictures because they all have my friends in them lol) I also included my first two night exposures. I’ll also note that the super yellow photos were taken with a faulty film pack (mentioned below) but they still resulted in some cool looking multi exposures.I only have two negatives! The only technical issue I experienced was that one of the provided film packs had some issues ejecting my photos, but otherwise, the other film pack, and any other that I’ve bought have worked just fine. I even got some fun weird photos out of the dysfunctional one due to multiple exposures (in the picture they’re the bright yellow ones). My only personal annoyance with the overall product: A little annoying that you need to use the app to do all adjustments, but I also can see the value of having a remote for the camera. It was also nice to have the long exposure timer with me instead of somewhere on the camera. One helpful piece of advice I saw online: if you’re taking pictures when it’s cold (for me it was 55°F and below), put the photo in your pocket to develop, not facedown on a table or surface. The cold makes the photos greenish, so putting it in your pocket where it’ll be warmer helps prevent that from happening. If you’re getting this, do some research on photography! If your photos aren’t coming out the way you expected, try to adjust some of the settings. Also, remember that film is super expensive, so if you’re learning photography with this camera, be prepared to spend money on some bad photos. (I won’t say waste, because even my “bad” photos came out pretty cool, just not as expected, and I got to learn from them).

Beautiful, retro photos and vibe, fun!
Great retro photos from this camera. You have to know its strengths and weaknesses to appreciate it. Strengths are lots of light, weakness is shadows and darkness. This just means you have to look at it from a different perspective and adjust your expectations. Also, be sure to download the app and adjust the exposure and settings for darker conditions. You may feel frustrated but don’t give up. Learn to appreciate the beauty of the photos even if they turn out different than intended. It’s not your digital phone’s camera, and that is the point. Very warm, retro, beautifully analog photos.I bought this and got frustrated by night photos, returned the camera and then regretted it so I bought it again. I learned to appreciate it and learn how to use it in different conditions and not expect certain results from it. For example, while nighttime long distance is going to be near impossible, it can exceed at getting up close neon signs of gas stations and other cool signs of you get up close, and gives such an awesome, artistic vibe you won’t get from a digital camera. My review errs on the philosophical side of analog instant cameras because of my circle of learning to appreciate the Polaroid’s magic. When you get frustrated, put the pics away and come back to them and you’ll notice how the “accidents” end up being so cool and better than intended. This happened to me, and now I’m in love with this camera. Also, the photos develop over days and quality and color improved over a week.In conclusion, this is an excellent analog instant camera with so much to explore and to own it must require an open mind, patience and motivation to learn how to work it. Once you shoot through several photos and discover what works and doesn’t, you’ll start to understand why this is such a popular format. Polaroid photos that start off as mistakes end up being a life lesson to look at things from a different perspective and you’ll be amazed how cool those mistakes end up looking. Not everything has to be a clear digital photo. Approach this from the artistic mindset and you’ll love it.

“Fun and nostalgic “
I recently purchased the Polaroid camera, and it has been an absolute joy to use! The instant film experience brings back nostalgic memories while offering a unique and creative way to capture moments. The camera’s design is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around for spontaneous photo opportunities. The quality of the prints is surprisingly good, with vibrant colors and a vintage touch that adds to the charm of the photographs.Operating the camera is straightforward, and the instant gratification of holding a physical photo in your hands just seconds after capturing the moment is priceless. It’s a refreshing departure from the digital world of smartphones and offers a tangible and tactile photo experience. The built-in flash is useful for low-light situations, ensuring that you can capture memories in various lighting conditions. I also appreciate the variety of film options available, including color, black and white, and special edition frames, allowing for creative expression. One small drawback is that the film packs can be a bit pricey, but the unique experience and the joy it brings to both kids and adults outweigh the cost.Overall, I highly recommend the Polaroid camera for anyone looking to add a touch of nostalgia and fun to their photography. It’s a perfect gift for special occasions and a great addition to any social gathering.
