Mine fit over the standard plastic piece fine, and installed in just a couple of minutes.As others mentioned, the screws are not black. I hit them with some paint, and I think it looks better than it would have if I didn’t.I accidentally dropped mine onto gravel when I was putting it on and it scratched the paint a bit, which is to be expected. If there’s any issues later, I don’t see any issues with taking it off, cleaning it and hitting with some paint, and throwing it back on.

Installs in less than 5 minutes. Uses current screw holes fits right over existing factory parts. Comes with star driver screws and star driver tool for some added security. Key will not be confused with other keys on your key ring. Cover and lock are black. There are plenty of similar items on the market for less, some of those are not quality nor as easy to install, are not completely black and have keys that may be confused with other locking mechanisms. Choice is yours pay a little more for exactly what you want and can install no problem or buy a cheaper one and not be totally satisfied.

With what's going on out there with gas prices you have to do something to combat the problem. It easy to install and looks good and is very functional.

Easy install, looks much better then just a exposed cap, the first time I had been caught on salt roads, I had to lubricate the key hole but honestly that expected.

DO NOT get this if you think it stops people from siphoning your gas, the TJ already has a check valve in the part of the filler tube that is in the gas tank that stops siphoning!Its built very well, but it is just a cover that fits over the existing filler trim. The issue arises when you need to fill from a gas can, you can't, this cover extends the depth of the filler neck. Most gas can necks will not work, specially the new "Stupid" CARB necks. Better keep a long neck funnel in the jeep on a permanent basis. Also the perceived security this provides is minor. It would not be hard at all for someone to rip it off the jeep, or even pry it open.It does keep the average person honest though. But don't think it will keep a determined one out.UPDATE:After having this on my Jeep for a while now the finish is coming off, it appears to be spray paint over top of chrome. The Finish is curling up and falling off of the edges of the door and the face of the lock.Very disappointing, looks terrible!!!!! In the end I will be repainting this with Monstaliner, but if it gives me more problems, it will be removed and sold to someone looking for the looks more then function.I will upload photos.UPDATE - 2:I bought a locking gas cap and removed the lock from this and just put a knob on it. The lock is JUNK!!! It would be real easy to open this with a small screw driver, so the lock is pointless anyway. Why they could not have spent a few cents more and put on a REAL weatherproof lock of good quality, especially after they charge so much for it, is just a REAL GOOD example of how this company has a total LACK of concern for its customers. Ruggid Ridge is GARBAGE stuff.I had a pair of their fender flares and never even put them on, cheap thin plastic. I sold them to someone else.

Very easy to install and it looks good. I was hesitant to purchase this type that screws into the plastic in the gas cap housing. Other types require you to remove the taillight, install something behind the gas cap housing that the gas cover can be connected too. I got over it, however, when I saw how quick it was to install. My major issue with this item is that the black finish dulls very easily. When I first got it, it was glossy black; now it's faded, and it's not because contaminants like gas being spilled on it, if that's what you were thinking. If I had known this beforehand, I probably would've gotten the chrome version, even though it doesn't match my '12 Wrangler JK.
