It is heavier than it looks.
Seems like a great product so far. It is heavier than a normal hard hat. Thankfully I don't wear a hard hat for very long at a time. Pretty cool hard hat. I have always wanted one.

Easily the best
Yes, the suspension is absolute garbage… honestly would rather they not include them at all because it went straight in the garbage. As another buyer recommended, I got one of the MSA 4 points. Perfect, strong, and slick

Saves your brain and keeps you cool in the sun
First day of use it proved itself. The first time I wore this hard hat I was trimming some tall oaks while the temperature was in the 90s. I live in south Texas about 5 miles from the sun where working outside in the summer heat can literally kill a man. I’ve tried nearly everything for comfort and protection in the heat: cowboy hats, straw hats, wide brim gardener hats, Army boonie hats, and even a genuine pith helmet (a real legit one, made from sola pith and covered in khaki twill). A side note: to be honest, NOTHING beats a real pith helmet against heat—NOTHING! but you’ll look like you’re on a safari hunt. This hard hat was nearly as cool as my pith helmet and every bit as cool as a wide brim vented straw hat. I’m serious. Trust me, I’ve tried them all recently. That said, the protection this offers beats all those other hats by miles and miles. First day using this, an oak branch fell from about 15 feet and hit the top of my head faster than I could get out of the way. Smacked me in the head hard enough to knock the hard hat off my head. Without a hard hat, I would have gone straight to the hospital for at least some stitches. Of course, the impact would have destroyed a straw hat or pith helmet. Put some dents and scratches in the hard hat (see photo). All I got was a loud “ping!” It didn’t knock me out and no injuries. The harness is extremely comfortable. I can wear this all day without discomfort or itching. Other reviewers have complained about the ratchet system not working. Mine worked. It had loud, audible “clicks” until it became snug. Once it’s snug, the clicks become softer and you can’t get the band TIGHT. Maybe this is sort of a governor system to keep you from over tightening since that can cause headaches and other problems. You don’t need to ratchet the harness down really tight anyway because the harness system includes a soft, comfortable chin strap. So if you need to wear the helmet under conditions where you have an expectation of it falling off, you just wear the chin strap. The harness can be adjusted for a wide range of head sizes to fit SNUGGLY. Beyond that, you wear the chin strap. I keep my hair short. I was able to ratchet the harness snuggly enough that I could stand still, bend forward, and look between my legs without the hard hat falling off. More importantly, I was able to look straight up and it didn’t shift or slide. If I was going to be moving around or working while looking down like that, I’d wear the chin strap. The chin strap is also adjustable, by the way. This aluminium hard hat comes in a variety of colors, but I just went with the unpainted version. Im considering whether to buff it to a shine to increase the reflection of radiant heat from the sun and make it even a bit cooler to wear. As it is, it’s surprisingly comfortable in the heat. This one is solid aluminum, Class C and not safe for guys working with antennas, electrical lines, or climbing power poles. For everything else, I think it’s worth every penny. I wish I’d had bought this years ago.

Hat Great-Suspension Sucks
Hat is light, looks great, feels quality, BUT, the suspension it comes with is junk. Buy the MSA 10126693 Fas-Trac III 4 Point Suspension for $20 and you'll be all set to cut looking like your Great Grandfather 1895.

Fortunately, I haven't had to test it yet...
I managed to whack myself in the head trimming tree limbs and decided to get some protection for next time. This helmet is light weight, fits comfortably, and seems like it will do the job when needed. Wish I bought it before trimming the last tree...

Not for construction
Sharp looking hat. The suspension is a joke. It will dent from a 6 foot latter fall onto plywood. With concrete a 3 foot fall will make a noticeable dent.
