Orion 08889 1.25-Inch Telescope Accessory Kit (silver)

Pros: The only useful parts are the barlow lens, 20mm lens and the moon filter. Everything else is useless from what I experienced today.Cons: 1. No instructions on how to use these parts and where to attach, it was trial and error and experimentation and youtube videos.2.The metal case looks nice but the lock is awful and the keys are so thin, it feels they could snap. For the price, please improve the quality of the metal case - I won't be locking the case with the key.3. The 7.5mm eyepiece is rather useless, the eyepiece hole was so tiny, and seeing through it was a challenge. I wont be using it.This review is written with the eyes of a newbie to telescopes and astronomy. In my view, just buy the Orion 2x barlow, a 20mm lens and a moon filter and save some money if you can.

I bought this set because it was excellent value. I needed a Barlow lens but it was fairly expensive if bought on it's own. By buying this kit I was not only getting the Barlow I wanted but most of the extras I would ever need. The advice I was given was to only buy items as you really need them, but that way I would have been parting with a lot more money. I hardly need the colour filters, but the neutral one is useful. I own an Orion Starblast 4.5 telescope and for that this kit is a perfect match. All the lenses are good quality. The case is sturdy and has enough space to hold the lenses that first come with a telescope.

This accessory kit is exactly the package a starter astronomer or an armature stargazer would need. Thanks to Orion for this wonderful assortment of the necessary lenses and filters.
