Athena Empowerment Technology– Rose Gold

This is a great product! I bought one for my wife, and one for me. They are easy to setup and work as advertised. However, my wife's has stopped working. It will not pair, and it's said is not available on the blutooth list. I have an rf monitor and when I turn on pairing on my device, the monitor sees it. When I turn on my wife's, there is nothing. I have asked for a refund, and will repurchase one for my wife!Update: I just ordered another one for my wife. The price was $70! When I purchased two of them less than a month ago, they were $129 each. I feel ripped-off! I originally paid almost twice what is being charged now. Buyer beware! Because of the price difference, I decreased one star!Update: I have continued to play with the Athena. I found in the FAQ that if you are trying to pair with a new phone, I was not, press the button 10 times and the leds will start blinking in a circle. I did that, and was able to get Roar working again.

I love this item! As a runner and owner of a dog, I am out walking alone quite often but the Athena makes me feel much safer. The device is small and discreet and can be placed conveniently anywhere on my clothing. The fact my contacts do not need the app to receive alerts is great and they receive my exact location when I send out an alert. Another huge plus is you have the options of silent or alarm mode for different situations.The device was a little buggy when I first set it up but once I found the FAQ section I was able to figure out what was wrong and set up my Athena. I do wish there was more guidance or instructions on additional features of the device and app. The interface of the app however is easy to follow and straight forward.While there is some work to be done, I would definitely recommend the Athena to all my friends as the main function of the Athena is delivered in an easy and simple user friendly way.

I live in the city and commute to work when it’s dark out. I’ve been trying to find a personal safety device that I don’t have to fumble with in case I need to use it. I love how easy it is to find the button without having to dig into my purse or look at the actual device. It makes me feel much safer during my walk from my apartment to the subway. My co-worker and I are each other’s contacts so we can watch out for each other. Thankfully, we haven’t had to use it yet!

Pleased with the device so far. I wish it would make a 911 call but they say they are working on that. Tech support is responsive.

This product is a good idea, but breaks when it has to do an update. It's "button" is very difficult to press. For a weaker individual, impossible. The noise is ok. The main reason I purchased it was for the notification. This product can't survive an update, so it's basically useless. The support numbers goes to an answering machine. The emails never get a response. Performing the recommended tasks from the app to get it back online didn't work. Maybe in 5 years or so and many updates, the product will be ok - if the product makes it to that point in its lifecycle.

This product is not very accurate. I paired it and added my contact. I decided to test the alarm and it did not send anything to my contact. I don't think it tracks like product description says as well. The alarm is loud but if no one is around to hear it will not do much good. I sent the product back.Customer service was very very slow to respond. Sent email and took 11 days for a response.

Athena become my best friend. I can’t leave the house without it. I would highly reccomend this device to everyone. Athena is the answer from keeping you safe!

I really wanted to like it. The concept of this is awesome. However, I test ran it with my sister and she received no notification. Tried it twice and nothing.
