How did you come up with the idea for this product? Two reasons; being made from recycled paper packing we needed product ideas to enable us to use the material up and get more waste diverted from landfill. Secondly we noticed that given how useful it is to know what phase the moon is in, whether you’re gardening or wanting tidal heights or interested in how the moon affects behaviour and there where very little products to help. The simple moon clock is easy to set up and shows the state of the moon at a glance. What makes your product special? A moon clock is very functional, it has a very clear and useful purpose rather than just being ‘the next fashion statement’. To help the environment all our products are designed with longevity in mind, the clear, simple clean design means it will fit within most tastes and homes and won’t be thrown away because ‘orange’ is no longer in fashion. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Seeing something that was once just an idea, a little something in the back of your mind whilst cutting the lawn come to life, become something tangible, useful, helpful. Being able to make that idea from recycled materials and so contribute in some way to helping society is also greatly rewarding. It’s nice to know that a business you started from scratch is in some way contributing rather than just existing for one persons benefit.
