Buy it, well worth it!
I have cheap blackout blinds from a famous highstreet store beginning with A which had started to fail. The one in my lounge had started ramdomly dropping out an the one upstairs had started to slowly srop down so I have to manually turn the blind. Thought i'd try this as a quick fix asthe blinds themselves are fine, but the cheap nasty fittings are not.Fitted myself in less than 10 minutes. The ends fit perfectly in the metal tube of my old blind without any need for shaving or adjustment. Unlike my other fittings, its clear these wont have the same issue with dropping out. Firstly the end caps are metal, so no give. Secondly the non winder end is spring loaded, so when you fit the blind it is pushed in and springs back out to fit the blind securely, rather than my old ones which were just wedged between plastic which had eventually given and have no tension. The wind mechanism is quiet and very smooth. I also utilised one of my previous holes as the setting distance for the mechanism was the same as the other making it quick fixing and no measuring. I just needed to drill one extra hole in each side.I've actually just purchased another one of these for the upstairs blind, since my lounge blind now works better than it did when it was new, £5 is much cheaper than buying new decent blinds. I'd actually recommend buying them before fitting new cheap blinds that come with plastic ends, save yourself the hassel down the road. ill definitely buy them if I buy anymore cheap blinds, no one would know the difference between these and dearer blinds now.

Perfect fit for my old blind
I dropped my blind and the plastic connections shattered as did the pulley. I came across this as on amazon as an option instead of purchasing a new blind. These fitments come complete with instructions with the John Lewis branding on.The metal brackets to fix the blind to the wall, were slightly larger than the plastic ones I had previously but they were easy enough to install. The connections fitted my blind perfectly. The pulley has a sturdy long length silver beaded thread which was easy to cut to the correct length using the clever connectors. The fitment to hold the blind into the bracket is a push mechanism and not a slip in from above with a plastic piece to hold in place (as my previous one was) . I am Very pleased I found this!

Rolling mechanism too tight!
The delivery was on time and the parts were all there. The installation was also easy. The only issue was that the roller mechanism just did not work well, It would raise the blind with some effort. But to roll it down, it was too tight and hard, pulling caused the child safety bead chain to come apart. It was so frustrating! Finally I took the mechanism apart and removed the coil spring inside and finally the blind rolls up and down more smoothly and easily. Took much longer than it should have done to fit.

Gives a touch of class to any blind and very heavy duty.
I have purchased several of these and they are as close to an 'old fashioned' quality as you will get. Everything that matters is steel and this includes the pull cord - the safety thing is swerved by a couple of breakable links though it's still quite tough and best kept away from kiddies. As the main difference between 'budget' and 'quality' blinds is usually the mechanism these really even the gap. I'm using a couple of cheap £12 blackout blinds where the fabric is great but the plastic fittings terrible. Even when you add the price of the blind and mechanism together it is under £20 and 'decent' blinds tend to cost double that. These really are superb and an absolute bargain for six and a half quid. As per my pictures, they work just as well recessed or externally fitted. Forgive the state of the walls, work in progress.

won't pull down easily !!!
Installed as per the instruction leaflet. Found after this that it pulled the blind up with a little more effort on the pull than expected, but to pull the blind down requires more than a considerable amount of force! The first time I did this it pulled the blind out of its housing.OK, only £7 but this system replacement was an 'Amazon Choice', not so in my book, there is something wrong with the mechanism in the design and I advise you not to buy this.

Excellent quality for the price
Excellent quality for the price and really easy to fit. The only downside was that it was a couple of mm deeper than the roller I had to replace which, although doesn't sound like much, meant that I had to trim the metal bar of the blind down, which was a pain!I would recommend this blind roller, just be aware that it may be slightly wider than the one you replace.

Good quality roller blind mechanism.
Ordered what I thought was a generic roller blind chain mechanism but it arrived branded John Lewis.Easy to fit and operates smoothly. A decent quality metal chain helps and is much better than plastic alternatives.
