When it comes to blank SC1 Schlage keys ....be careful
The media could not be loaded. These are the most horrible Schlage SC1 keys I have ever seen in my life. Don't get me wrong if you looked at them side by side you would think that these are identical too Ilco SC1 blanks, but they are not. None of them work that I have made copies onto. I even stamped ones out by code. Meaning I used a code cutting machine to cut the exact depth for the Schlage SC1 keyway, and they still did not work. The code cutter cuts to factory specs measured by the pin depth in millimeters, so it cuts perfect keys every time, like the keys you get with a brand-new lock from Schlage. In the business we call them "Originals". I keyed up a lock using my Lab rekeying kit, using a Schlage Original key to go off of, the key had never been used so it was pristine. It had a 67535 number on the side of the Schlage Original key I used. Those numbers represent the pins that will be needed for that lock or any other lock which you want that key to work in. So, I keyed up the new lock using the 67535-pin combination, and of course the Schlage original worked in the lock. Then I made a copy of the original onto one of these blanks I bought from Wah Lin Parts. When I tried it in the lock, it did not work. Ran the key I just cut through the key cutting machine again just to make sure it was an exact copy, tried it, didn't work. So, I cut another, it didn't work. And another, it didn't work. So, I got curious and got myself an Ilco SC1 blank. Made the copy off the same original 67535 key. Brushed it, tried it in the lock, whamo!!! Like butter, it opened so smoothly and softly like it was supposed to. That was when I took one of the Wah Lin Parts SC1 blanks and put it in the code cutter and stamped it out with the 67535 cuts as per the original. Brushed it, took it to the lock, tried it, didn't work. I was blown away at that point. The code cutting experiment told me, that if it was code cut and still didn't work, that the key was defective. Looking at the key blank after that and with great detail, I did notice a few design flaws which were most likely behind the failure of the key. There are some Schlage Deadbolts that I have that the key won't even go in all the way!! It would be one thing if there were some that worked and some that did not work, but this is a case, none of them have ever worked. One of the first things that I had noticed when looking closer at them, was when I looked down the barrel of the key (when you put 2 keys side by side and look at them head on to compare them) I noticed that the Wah Lin Parts SC1 was much thinner in the body of the key and much deeper in the grooves cut into the side of the key. No wonder the keys have issues, and it's not just one or two of them, it's all of them. Moral of the story, it is perfectly fine to go with a lesser priced item over a high-priced item to save money or if you are in a hurry and want the item tomorrow, not next month because the good ones are all sold out. Spend a little extra, or in my case, have the patience to wait for an item if it is on backorder. Because, when it comes to certain items (such as a key) that request and require precision, and exactness so they work well and function properly. Get the well-known, the brand name, the cream of the crop, the Holy Grail, because you know it is going to work, and work well. You will be a much happier person when everything works out as it is supposed to in the end. Spend more, enjoy more.

They are poorly manufactured
These keys did not work, upon investigation the spine that rests in the key cutter was rough amd uneven in all of them.easy fix if you know what to look for but will not cut correctly if not smoothed out with a file.
