My sons laugh at my coffee nerdiness. Maybe there are things that don't have to be as complicated as a coffee lover preparing a puck for extraction. There again, the ritual and care taken assures consistency and repeatability.This WDT tool comes unassembled and you take the needles from a provided tube, placing them inside the tool and then screwing the top on. Easy to do. Took about 1 minute. I am not very careful about placing it back in its metal case after use, laying on top of my machine instead (a gasp of horror from other even more serious coffee lovers!). I don't know how delicate this device is, but I haven't broken a needle yet.It has been superbly useful and reassuring in use, getting rid of any clumps and air gaps before tamping. I am getting ready to purchase my first bottomless portafilter, and am hoping that this cost effective WDT tool will help me be not one of those that spurts coffee everywhere except in the cup.

Good little WDT, comes with a few spare needles. Needles stay in securely. The stand is a little too light compared to the WDT, so it is easy to knock over, but generally great value.

Good quality, worked fine for me

After watching a lot of coffee vids I decided to make this the first accessory to my coffee making arsenal, could have made my own but at this price why bother, looks good and works as it should.

I just needed something straight forward and not too fancy and this fits the bill nicely. Plenty of spare needles, easy to store and clean.

One of the homes hadn’t been drilled through so couldn’t put a spring through.

Nicely finished and well made, feels quality. Bit pricey but a nice gadget.

Having used another WDT tool with only 4 prongs, I can confirm that this works significantly better at reducing clumps. It looks the part, and feels good quality in terms of build. Would recommend.

This wtd tool is made of thick aluminum and has an attractive matte black finish, with a nice stand. The wires are placed in the perfect configuration for removing clumps and air from your portafilter, it also comes with extra wires. My only complaint is that no instructions are included and assembly is required, it was simple to figure out but instructions would still be nice.
