Wicker's Marinade (Original, 1 Gallon)

My weight-watching go-to!
I've been a lover of Wicker's original baste/marinade since first discovering it at Diet Center ages ago and was so glad to see it show up on Amazon! Wicker's is a "win" for this weight-conscious reviewer because it packs A LOT of flavor plus a bit of heat which make even the most plain or boring food interesting with ZERO sugar, fat, and barely any calories. I'll pour Wicker's in my crockpot when slow-cooking chicken, and drizzle it on baked potatoes instead of using butter or sour cream. My husband, who is more daring with condiments, adds Wicker's to just about everything--even his tuna salad!

Simmering
After BBQ'ing the pork-steaks, it is my tradition to put those pork-steaks in to a large 11x17 pan and filling the pan half full with the Wickers Marinade putting into the oven for 5 hrs @ 170 degrees. This will melt the fat right off those pork-steaks. When you try to lift that pork-steak out of the pan it falls apart, the meat is very tender and the flavor is the best of all. I've been doing this for over 20 yrs. This is not your typical tomato based sauce, it is Vinegar based and it has a little kick to it. It is not hot, but it does have a little spice to it. If you don't want to put the pork-steaks in the over for 5 hrs, then put the pan on the BBQ pit turn it down low and keep an eye on the pan to make sure it does not go dry, for about 30 mins to an hour and you'll get the same results. (I think better results in less time). Good Luck.

Tastes great!
Excellent marinade. It's vinegar based and tenderizes any meat, giving it great flavor. My family has been using this as long as I can remember. We'd bring it back home with us after visiting family in the bootheel of Missouri. Highly recommend.

Wickers is a great vinegar-based marinade and base for making BBQ sauce
Wicker's is a vinegar-based marinade that I have used for decades. Unfortunately, it is not available in stores in my area. Fortunately, it is available from amazon. Wicker's contains cider vinegar, black pepper, salt, sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, paprika and cumin. I have tried to duplicate the recipe, but mostly failed. It is not cheap, $24.95 for a gallon, but I'm hard-pressed to realize my smoking and BBQing potential without it. My primary use is as an ingredient in my home-made BBQ sauce. Another great use other than marinating before smoking is to drizzle it over the pulled pork after all is said and done.Wicker's is an essential for Carolina style, vinegar based BBQ. I still have the original jug from years ago.

Best Vinegar-based Pork BBQ Marinade on the Market
I've been using this product for years, but some reason it went off the market in my local area and I was having a very hard time finding any. Thanks to Amazon, its readily available to me again. This marinade both tenderizes and imparts a delicate flavor to both chicken and pork that outstanding when these meats are fired over a charcoal grill. I won't grill without it!

Wonderful Vinegar based sauce. I have used it over 60 years.
Use for marinade, use to baste while cooking. Mix with ketchup, mustard, hot sauce to create your own sauce.

Wicker’s is the only one
Our family has been using Wicker’s since before I was born. But we had to go to MO to get it. And it was worth it every time. Whether it’s for some grilled chicken or a good old fashioned BBQ, it’s makes it all taste great.
