Quality Hammer
Good quality rawhide hammer. Like the ones it used in the Navy back in the early 70s

Best leather working mallet
I have been using these for 40 years. Best for setting snaps, rivets and carving or stamping leather. I am not sure of the physics but when stamping leather a steel hammer will not carry the force of the blow through the tool and into the leather. This is the mallet to use and the bigger the better.Chuck

Great for metal finishing work
Non-marring, this is awesome for metal finishing work. I will be buying another one if this thing ever wears out, which it appears is going to take a long time!

Great for leather and metal work.
This tool is great for setting snaps, eyelets and rivets in leather as well as striking the punch for the initial holes. Those are tasks you really shouldn't use a metal hammer for. This is also a great tool for those times I need a softer touch than a dead-blow when working metal. All-in-all a necessary and fantastic tool to have in the toolbox.

Excellent, non- marking mallet
Great rawhide mallet. Head and handle are joined tightly. Head is solid and durable. Handle is cut along straight grain of hardwood. This is my second rawhide mallet from this company, but larger head than the first. Original purchase has performed well for over 7 years.

Good rawhide mallet.
Well made rawhide mallet with a nice heft and weighted balance. So far it is working very well and I'm delighted I bought this mallet.

Some things never change
When I was wee lass my daddy owned an upholstery shop. He refurbished antiques as-well-as doing regular work on chairs, sofas amd such. I always got to do the "tear down" work which meant to remove the outer coverings starting with the piece being upside down and remocing the tacks ans strips. I would usually get as far as the area where the "pockets" in the sides and back seemed to collect the money people lost. If I was really lucky I might end up eith a dollar. Back in 1954 that was a lot of money for an 8 ytear old.Now fast forward and my wood shop needed a mallet and I so remembered that leather mallet I used so many years ago. I went online and discovered this brand. The same as my dad had! There were cheaper brands from off shore companies but I would not consider them. THe original is always better. It feels right in my hands. Thanks guys!

Top quality mallet. Very satisfied.
I've always been amazed at the strength and durability of rawhide. This mallet is no exception; great quality and was delivered promptly. I would certainly recommend it and Garland Mfg.
