Well written book
There is a lot of information in this small book. Takes more than a quick read to understand the design process. Worth it if you want to make special springs.

Strength of various springs
Gives a good first approximation of spring design; math is relatively simple.

Short on details
There was lots of technical data but it was short on details on how to actually make your own springs. There were enough details to get you started but I was looking for more details on how to make my own springs at home and its in this category that the book fell a little short of my expectations.

Perfect treatment of the topic
Don't know of any other book out there on this topic. This has all you need. The worksop practice series of books are very useful.

Lack of information.
I was amazed by the fact the author offers no information on heat treatment and tempering of springs.

Not what I was expecting
I did go for a very cheap second hand version that was the original imperial edition but the contents are still valid
