Outstanding! Can finally make lots of HOT coffee while traveling without a French press.
My wife and I travelled to Australia for 1 month and we needed a way to make plenty of hot, strong, high quality coffee in the morning and beyond. (Motel coffee is usually poor). I searched online and there appear very few remote coffee making methods if you don't have a coffee maker or French Press (and don't want taste a bunch of coffee grounds). We found that all 20 of our motels/hotels in Australia included a hot water kettle, but only a couple of them had a French Press or a coffee machine. Instant coffee is more common there, and although OK in a caffeine "emergency", the taste is OK at best. Knowing this, I had bought and brought (as an experiment) 30 of these filter bags, along with our favorite, excellent ground coffee. What I did was simply poured a good amount of ground coffee in these bags, placed in a large mug and poured in boiling water from the available kettle. Within 1-2 minutes minutes, we had outstanding coffee to drink while getting ready for the day, and enough to take a couple Thermos Coffee Travel Mugs with us for the rental car. Note: these bags are the size of small tube socks. I admit it did take a few times to optimize my technique (to minimize some mess), and I found it's easiest to make the coffee extra strong in one mug and pour into other mugs and then dilute (with water) to taste preference. To make more coffee I just kept added more ground coffee to the same (used) bag (without removing previous grounds). This method was less messy, also did NOT results in much coffee grounds on the bottom of our mug (or impact taste). We bought different coffees with different grinds (particle sizes), and they all worked. Before leaving hotel, simply just dropped big bag of wet grounds in the trash. I can't believe this isn't more popular. Most bags and devices online are to make tea, and they are usually small bags to make just 1 cup. Other options talk about overnight cold brew. Well, you can use this product to make larger quantities of hot brew in 2 minutes (if you have a way to boil water).

Perfect and exactly what I was looking for.
These bags are perfect for making cold brew in a large 64 oz ball jar. They fit over the wide mouth, hold a cup of ground coffee (which is the amount I personally use for each batch), and there is no sediment--even for a fine grind). I don't even bother tying the bags off. I just fill half my jar with cold water, insert the bag leaving some of the bag folded over the mouth, add my coffee, add the rest of the water, take a chopstick and stir it around a bit, and then use a piece of parchment to cover and secure it with an old canning ring.

They worked well
These bags made it easy to make my cold brew without the mess. I was trying to figure out the easiest way to make my cold brew without the mess and this did the trick. They were sturdy and didn’t rip when I squeezed them to get the remaining coffee out. Highly recommend!

It's a "No Mess" brewing bag, IF you do it right
These brewing bags take a lot of the clean-up away from making large batches of coffee (or, even when using loose leaf tea). You brew the coffee (or tea) in a large French press, or just a pitcher; then remove and discard the disposable bag with all the used grounds inside. Simple! However, because the bag is closed by using a drawstring, if you just pull the drawstring taut and tie the ends together, then when the bag is dumped into the container and water is added, some coffee grounds (or tea leaves!) will float to the TOP, and slip OUT of that tiny opening you've left in the bag. That makes cleaning up much more of a chore, and you'll probably end up spitting out bitter coffee grounds, rather than totally enjoying your drink. To prevent any of that from happening, you MUST take some extra effort to totally seal off the top of the bag – COMPLETELY!I recommend that after placing the amount of coffee or tea you intend to use in the bag, you pull the drawstring snugly, then wrap one of the loose strings – in a CLOCKWISE direction – VERY TIGHTLY around the neck of the bag, several times. Then, using the other string, wind it tightly around the neck in the COUNTER-CLOCKWISE direction several times, too. Knot the loose ends together so they won't come apart, and it's ready to use! If your winding and tying are tight enough, no loose bits should come out from the top of the bag, anymore. You might need to squeeze some air out of the bag as you are adding water to the container, so the bag doesn't just float to the top. A wooden spoon or spatula is handy for this, especially when making cold brew coffee, since it takes a while longer to get the grounds thoroughly soaked when using cold water. These could actually be really good, if maybe the opening was completely self-sealing, like an adhesive mailer, or a zip-closure food bag.Right now, I've figured it out; but having some simple instructions printed on the label would have been nice to have at the beginning.

Perfect
Exactly what I needed to streamline the cold brew process at home and get rid of the mud at the bottom of the jar. I also use these to rinse rice and beans before cooking.

Too thick for proper steeping
The mesh seems layered and too thick. I did a 12 hour cold brew with 3 lbs of coffee in 5 gallons of water. The bags don’t let out enough air out or water in. They floated on the top so I had to use a glass pie dish to sink them to the bottom. Still, the brew came out very weak. When I squeezed the bags full of coffee, I got a thick concentrate out. So they need to be thinner for the concentrated coffee mixes with the rest of the water.

Perfect
I've tried the metal filters with no luck. They don't get clean. These make it easy! Put as much or as little grinds in, let it soak, and toss!
