I found this to be betyer than I expected. My grill has broken and I couldn't make toast. This does the job nicely.

When going camping a bit of toast is the perfect food - egg on toast, beans on toast ( especially considering we only have 2 gas burners to cook on). I do have a toaster but I object to paying £6 for electric hook up just for a piece of toast. Cooked quite evenly; smoked a bit but could be as it is new and good value.

Fits easily in my back pack. Very light and flat. It tarnishes base straight away from direct flame on a portable gas cooker, but toasts bread ok. Only annoying thing is it holds onto crumbs in between top and bottom surface and does not seem to be a way to clean crumbs out that I can find. Can only knock out loose crumbs. For price it is good and handy to have.

Item does what it’s designed to do. DON’T EXPECT IT TO WORK LIKE AN ELECTRIC TOASTER. ITS FOR BASIC CAMPING PURPOSES AND DOES IT WELL. So don’t write a negative review because it doesn’t cook exactly like your flashy home toaster.

Easy to burn the toast

This compact toaster is one of the best pieces of equipment you can have. We have used this when camping, in a caravan and more recently in our camper van. It is an essential piece of kit!Toasts all types of bread and great for warming croissants!

Looking at the reviews for this item I was a little skeptical, but having used it in my camping stove multiple times now I can't see why people have problems with it. Put it on firstly to warm up on a medium heat, then add your toasting food of choice, lower the flame to a moderate level, keep an eye on it and rotate the food often to get an even toast.I wouldn't recommend using this on full power or on a stove like a jet boil, this is a lightweight cooking device, if you use a flame thrower on it, it's bound to fail, but if you treat it with care and attention it's a nifty little device. I didn't need to use gloves but I would suggest some may need to or get one of those silicon handle grips, also a pair of tongues so you don't burn your pinkies. All in all, it works, it's cheap, basic, effective and if looked after will no doubt last for years. 👍

I do not have a lot of counter space and use a stove top toaster when camping sooooo why not at home! well this one work great on both electric (coil) stoves and (open flame ) gas stoves. so bye bye counter top toaster. This "camp" toaster folds and stores nicely with my pot lids in a small space. and at $13, wonderful !

It works as it should. Great for roasting in our proper stove top brners
