Seben 6x30 Finder Scope FS2 with crosshairs + bracket incl.

I find this useful and certainly good value for money as it's inexpensive. At these prices I bought both the straight-through version and the diagonal (right angle) version  Seben 6x30 90° Right-Angled Telescope Finder Scope with crosshairs + bracket FS3  and it can be useful to interchange them depending on whether you're looking near the horizon or the zenith. I also made myself a wire loop which shows the same field of view when placed on a page of a sky atlas. You see stars at a magnitude that's useful to match with the atlas. In a dark sky you see the Andromeda Galaxy as a smudge of light (centre of the galaxy X 6) that's about right to correspond with the image in the telescope low power eyepiece, and then you can move to higher power for more detail.

I took my time looking at various options for my new finder scope, each time I kept coming back to the Seben version as it was within my low budget and seemed to get decent reviews.Having received the product very quickly I am impressed with the quality in terms of value for money and it is extremely easy to use, Even though no instructions were supplied nor available to download on the suggested web-site. The cross-hair makes finding targets much easier (once I got used to the viewed image being upside down)I think this will be a very useful addition to my equipment.

I found the scope to be out of focus. the front lens was set about 5mm too far back, with no room for adjustment.I have, however made my own adjustment and it is now in perfect focus. The delivery was very prompt and Sebenhave always been polite when I have used them. But I would recommend spending slightly more money and gettinga better quality scope.

OK so it is inexpensive. But the chromatic aberration is pretty bad and the only the centre two thirds are in good focus. Plus I do not advise drilling holes in your telescope to mount it - use glue.

Good little scope, Adjusters are mediocre at best, plastic body, however for the price the crispness of the lens cannot be knocked.Over all i would give this a 6.5/10

The finder scope arrived quickly and safely. Unfortunately the focusser/eyepiece was cross-threaded but this was quickly and easily sorted. Looking through the scope in the day time, it appears to be cheap optics but the cross-hairs are clear and the image sufficient. Also noted that this has non-erecting optics so you get the upside-down & back-to-front view. Looking at the night sky, stars are clear enough to locate and the cross-hairs, though black, are still visible.I bought this finder scope to attach to my  Celestron Astromaster 130EQ . (The red-dot finder scope that comes with the telescope is difficult to use successfully.) I wanted something cheap, simple to use and with cross hairs in the hope that I could point my telescope at what I wanted to look at much more quickly. I haven't attached it to the scope yet (I plan to use car number-plate sticky pads or failing that drill holes....).Once attached to my telescope and aligned, this should provide me with exactly what I was looking for. Although mostly plastic, this finder scope seems to be good value for the money and should provide a solution to the dreaded red-dots....

The finderscope on my grandson`s scope was damaged.I didn't want to spend the usual £50or so . At about £12 my expectations were limited.The finder is basic ,optics weak,constructionplastic.However it does the job and my grandson is over the moon!
