good quality
Bought these gloves two years ago. They are still good. Good leather and stitching. Flexible and feel comfortable. I have used them mostly for gardening and protecting hands from branches, thorns or splinters.

Good enough for firefighter instructors
i first tried these on when I was practicing high line operations, rappelling, and belaying for firefighting. The instructors handed us these gloves and right when I put them on, I knew I had to get some for myself. While belaying and rappelling, we had to feed rope constantly, at times it would zip through our hands, but the gloves did their job without issues. By the end of the day, all the gloves had no fraying or any damage. I was pretty impressed. The gloves ran a bit large because I always wear medium gloves but the small that they handed me fit snug and good.As for the gloves that I just bought, I'm fairly pleased. At first, there was a slight problem with the thumbs, in that they are a bit to short. But after breaking them in, they feel great. Hands down the best pair of gloves I ever owned.

Great caving gloves
Purchased these to use exploring abandoned PA coal mines. Great gloves, taking a lot of abuse and still holding up well. The small are a tight fit but I like the dexterity afforded with a tight fitting glove

Daggum, These are Nice!
Ultra-comfortable. The goatskin is soft and flexible out of the box, and there is a plush lining inside. The comfort is top-notch. These are the luxury-car of rope gloves. With the stretch panels over the knuckles, my hands don't feel that they're binding anywhere. The wrist opening is very loose, so once you undo the velcro strap, these slide on and off quite easily.Love the carabiner hole for stowing on a belt loop when not wearing these.Past experience makes me weary about the low durability of goatskin. I'll be watching that aspect of these gloves closely.Fortunately, they did double up the goatskin in the rope channel on the palm, and on the first segment of the fingers. And there is no seam in the fingertips. Petzl wrapped the leather completely over the tips, moving the seams above and below the fingers instead, eliminating that nuisance area, as well as a common failure point. Most of the seams are double-stitched. So maybe there's nothing to worry about, after all...

Seem well built
I bought these for working gloves. I ordered the medium size do to other's suggestions. I normally wear "Large gloves" but for some brands I can wear "Xtra Large" this is always kind of frustrating when buying gloves. But I guess its just part of life?SO the medium fit REALLY snug. Not enough to mess up the dexterity, & after wearing them & working with them a short while they will surely loosen up.Look well made. Although time will tell? The only real issue I had with these, is they are slick.. I didn't expect that at all. Like I said, bought them as "work gloves'" & was using a wood mall to split wood, I hit a particularly hard spot in the oak log, stood on end, & the whole shebang managed to twist in my hands, thanks to the gloves, being so slick.. I'm surprised they come like this, being as they are made for climbing?Update August 2019So I thought these would "stretch" a bit... and I bought them in medium with the recommendation of other reviewers, but I must be in some odd ball hand size.. I probably should have went with large. That being said, I have used them, they have been great for handling logs, and firewood. The "slickness" has abated to some degree. The stitching and stuff seem to be holding together well so far. I'm trying to not to "abuse" the gloves.

Good choice if on a budget
This gloves are awesome. Just take in consideration before ordering them that if your in between sizes (M-L), the L size will fit you a bit tight but comfortable enough for you to accomplish any task.Don't forget to wash your hands after using them as if they get wet you might end with a black shade because of the dye used to color the product. Used them just a few times doing rappel from a Helicopter, and they still in pretty good conditions. Will keep you updated so you can take the right decision while buying a pair of gloves.

Excellent quality gloves for rope handling
The training that I've been involved with for the past few months has involved a lot of knot tying, rappeling, belaying, and other rope skills. So the requirements for the gloves we use are quite steep - durable, dextrous, and well padded. Some of my teammates traded off the durability and went with cheaper but well padded work gloves, thinking that they can replace them more easily. I went with a more expensive work glove with goatskin leather and a reinforced palm, believing in their claims of durability. These gloves were indeed dextrous, but I could definitely feel the friction of the rope on rappels and on a canyoneering trip, I burned holes into two fingers just after one day.Enter the Petzl K53 Cordex Plus Midweight gloves. I chose these over the lightweight Petzls because the leather is doubled up over the fingers. They are surprisingly nimble considering how much leather you have around your fingers. I actually find that I can tie knots faster with these because the leather is less likely to get snagged. The leather so far has held up well...not even the slightest bit of wear after a day of rappeling. All the seams remained tight and intact and the stitching shows no signs of fraying. I'll update the review more as I get to beat these gloves up.The palm is heavily padded to the point where it's a little difficult to tell if you're really holding a rope. The padding is really effective as I did some fast rappels and there wasn't even the slightest bit of discomfort. The lack of feeling in the palm does concern me for when I'm tired, cold, and my hands are numb - especially when rappeling on a thinner rope. But I suppose as long as you maintain a proper brake position, the grip doesn't have to be the most firm. The only other critique about the glove is that because of the great fit, it is more difficult to put the gloves on especially if your hands are wet. It would have been nice for a little elastic at the wrist so you can open the glove up more and get your hand in.

Destruidos
