Kung Fu Theology: A Practical Journey of How to Contend for the Faith

Wholeheartedly Recommend!!
In Kung Fu Theology, author Steve Allen emphasizes Paul's method of becoming all things to all people so that we may win some for Christ. He carefully guides us through his journey within the mission field, recounting his personal experiences with everyday people who are faithful to share the message of the gospel around the world amidst various trials and obstacles. You will be holding back tears through Allen's stories of faithful grandmothers in Nicaraguan dumps, close calls at underground churches in China, and God-orchestrated encounters at Gonzaga basketball games which change the course of history. It was incredibly encouraging to realize that all of these stories consisted of imperfect people who believed, surrendered, walked in the Spirit's power, and experienced deep heart transformation in order to glorify Him and share the good news of His faithfulness.Allen takes these stories of Christians obeying the disciple-making call and lovingly inspires his readers to walk in this same way that Jesus did centuries ago. You'll learn how to move from fearful observer to willing participant and how to be fluid in your methods while remaining solid in your theology to reach others for Christ.Halfway through reading this book my husband approached me and asked how the book was going. I couldn't get very many words out before I burst into tears because I was just so touched by the stories I was reading. I tried to explain, but eventually told him that he'll simply have to read it for himself to fully understand. I strongly encourage you to do the same!!

The Gospel comes to life
I’ve been reading the Gospels quite a bit lately, and have been slowly coming to realize that my modern 21st-century American version of Christianity is significantly different than the Gospel of the Kingdom He preached. For me, this book paints a picture of that Gospel in a clear and tangible way. The stories Steve tells are riveting, his humility and self-deprecation are refreshing, and his calls action are clear. I will be categorizing this as a “Must Read” for every person committing to follow Jesus.

Engaging, challenging and soooo good!
This book is SO good!! I felt like I was walking the in the mountains of the Philippines, the dusty streets of the Dump on nicragua and the night streets in China right along with Steve. It is hard to put down and all the while challenges me, inspires, encourages and motivates me! Please read this book. If we all applied these things to our lives there would be a lot more Jesus in the world! Thank you, Steve, for writing this book!

YOU WON'T WANT TO PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
I finished Kung Fu Theology in one day because I couldn't put it down. I felt like Steve Allen was setting across "table 26 at Panera" from me and sharing personally with me. It was very easy reading and totally engaging. Every time I read, "Let me tell you a story", my heart began to race. It was compelling, fun, interesting, challenging and biblical. It really increased my desire to want God's eyes, His love, His arms and His heart!!! Being fluid in sharing God's love... that's Kung Fu Theology.
