This is a traditional solution to a common garden problem. Set the trap and place in the mole run, it is triggered when the mole passes through it, killing it instantly.

Duffus Tunnel Mole Trap
Caught the little varmint within 24 hours. Does the job but VERY tricky to set up.The springs are so strong it makes it difficult to hook the trigger part up; managed it with help from a neighbour.I've used this type of trap and the scissor type, both have been successful and both are not easy to set up properly, but the scissor type is slightly easier.Whichever type one chooses the defining feature is finding the best tunnel position and laying the trap carefully.I have a DVD which helped me to do this but I think the careful firming of the tunnel floor before placing the trap is essential. This mole had caused much destruction on my lawn and one would have imagined that there was more than one culprit underground. But no! Not any sign of mole activity two weeks after romoving this solitary critter.I'm very happy with this tunnel trap and will keep it with my armoury of scissor type in case a newcomer tries his luck!

Snaps your fingers string up and no moles
Do not purchase . I thought all traps were built the same but they are not. These are rigid over sensitive traps that snap your fingers when setting up . I bought defender tunnel traps before ( easy ) but bought these as second time. Bad decision ! Awkward and dangerous for humans . Haven’t caught a mole so. It sure how they feel

Works
At first I had trouble setting it but with confidence you can press the spring down and then flip the pin in after waggling the connector underneath. I wore thinnish gloves. I dug into the mole hill and located the tunnel which I slightly enlarged with a trowel. I put a small shovel against the tunnel and backfilled and then removed the shovel. That's it. The mole hills stopped and later I dug the trap up to see I had caught the mole. I felt a bit mean but then looked at the bomb site garden and didn't feel so bad.

It Works
I'd previously bought one of the scissor type mole claw traps. Whilst that was easy to set after 2 weeks I gave up on it and bought 2 of these. They are difficult to set and quite sensitive, yo need a fairly srong grip and its essential to wear gloves for 2 reasons, firstl to protect your hands and secomdly to keep your human scent off thetrap. Moles have very poor eyesight and hunt worms and things mainly by smell. One of these traps caught my mole after 4 days. Although they are small they can do a lot of damage to a garden in a farly short time. You have to set the trap in a tunnel, the easiest way to find a tunnel is to dig between the 2 latest molehills about 12 to 18 inches away from a molehill. I found using a probe didnt really help, the tunnels are quite narrow but generally easy to spot, once the trap is placed you have to cover the hole to exclude light, best to leave it for 3 or 4 days before checking.

Mind your fingers
The first set of duffus traps I got [ from a different seller I think ] were great. But the four traps I received from this seller are awful. They're incredibly difficult to arm and once one side is armed then setting the other side will often spring the first side. When they go off in your hands...and they will, please for the love of sweet baby jesus make sure your fingers and hands are away from the moving parts. Having said all that, duffus traps are the only type that I use now having tried beagle traps, and scissor traps. The difference between the two purchases seems to be that the trapping hoop on these is made up of two parts clipped together and this just seems to cause everything to wobble when they're being armed. I'd love to hear back from the seller to tell me he's changed his design/supplier because the traps that I got are just ridiculously frustrating.

Great service from Amazon as always
Returned as faulty. Hoops too large to go through slot. Spring tension is far too high and so very difficult and dangerous to set. Great service from Amazon as always.I have a number of similar design tunnel traps from other vendors that work very well and do not have these faults. Avoid.

They were faulty in my case anyway
The Duffus design traps although made to the standard design were inferior in quality to identical ones sold by other companies. I am an experienced user of these items and one of the traps would not set due to a manufacturing error. The other functioned but only just.Returned for a refund will go back to my normal supplier even though they cost more.
