Beacon-Ridge Half Pencils with Eraser, Golf, Classroom, Pew, 2, Hexagon, Sharpened, Box of 144. Colors: Eight Mixed Classics

I bought these Beacon-Ridge half pencils specifically because they had erasers and because they came in a variety of colors. Oh, and the most important part, they come sharpened! I bought the entire gross (144) because it was more economical than buying the half gross. I did not undertake the tedious task of making sure I received 8 of each color, but I did inspect the colors received. I love the variety. So, you might ask, what exactly does one need a gross of half pencils for? I am not an avid mini golfer who insists on bringing her own pencil, with eraser. That would be basically cheating! No, I am an Occupational Therapist who gets asked for intervention ideas to help students with their handwriting skills. A shorter utensil provides less surface area to grasp, thus decreasing the likelihood of multiple fingers being placed on the pencil. It also promotes better arches while being held because the child is not having to manipulate this long utensil. This is why crayons are short! It lets the utensil rest nicely within the webspace and promotes the ideal grasp. I have been very happy that I purchased these half pencils.

These pencils look as advertised. I did not buy them for golf. My husband and I are having a 50th wedding anniversary party. I am going to have a 5 x 7 heart shaped card with lines for writing. The card says, "What advice would you give for someone to have a happy marriage?" The pencils will be on the dinner tables with the cards. I am hoping they will be a conversation starter for guests who may not know each other but at the same table. They will give their cards to the DJ. Then the DJ will read cards at random at various times during the evening.

We bought these to use in our church pews. The description says 4.25 inches. They are NOT. They were only 3.5 inches.

I got these box of pencils because I wanted to make about 20 bundles for teacher's appreciation day. Teachers never have enough pencils and the half-sizes are great for smaller grade kids to handle. When I got the box it sounded like things were rolling around in it, and sure enough they were. There was no crumpled paper or foam or anything to keep the pencils tight in the box during shipping so they were just all over each other and it was a mess. A lot of carbon from the lead was all over the erasers and the pencils themselves, and I'd even say that they were a dirty old bunch from before because I tried to take a wet wipe to the pencil bodies and the lead dirt wouldn't even come off. It's shameful to give these out so we just donated it. Not worth the money if they are going to send it out all messed up and dirty. A few even had broken leads and the erasers were full of lead dust/carbon so that when you tried to erase anything you just smeared the carbon all over the paper. I had bought some half-pencils from another vendor without erasers and I got this with the erasers hoping for a very similar product. Very disappointing.

Brought these pencils for my son who is in the second grade this year. Last year I purchased about 200 pencils and he used /lost 90% of them. I decided to shop smarter and find a quality pencil at a low cost, getting more for my dollar. Here I found these pencils! These are doing find. We are in the second week of school and I have not replenished his pencil supply as yet! The pencils are making It home so far and if they don't I have a full box to get us through the school year. Don't waste anymore time thinking about this purchase, just do it! I hope these pencils work out for you as they have been doing fine. I will give an update after the first month of school.

I use these as extra pencils for students to have in my high school classroom. Students love them for easy access to a sharpened pencil with an eraser. They’re really great value! You can sharpen them for continued use.

My 6yr old has a form of Autism (Aspberger's). There are many things we have to overcome. But since she is advanced the school will NOT put her in OT even though Children's Hospital clearly stated she needed help with fine motor skills. All the school would do is to put a plastic thing on a standard pencil. Not Helpful at all, in fact made the act of writing an even worse experience. Handwriting is literally painful for her.ENTER BEACON RIDGE HALF PENCILS!!! She is able to manage these and now there is less tears and less Advil. These fish were bought for games at my son and daughter-in-law's baby shower. It had a Dr. Seuss theme so the colors worked well. They were pre sharpened and had erasers to fix mistakes saving me the chore of having to sharpen 144 pencils. The cost allowed kept me from worrying about collecting them at the end of the shower, and everyone appreciated that they fit nicely in a purse. They went well with the Dr. Seuss book look alike notebooks that were included in the goodie bags too. Being multicolored added to the theme, and added a lot of color to the tables.The pencils were delivered as promised,
