Got these ordered today for my dragon tank, and multiple arrived broken.

I have so many ideas for these slate boards! They have little things on the back so you don't scratch your table or counter top. They would work for parties, paintings, kitchen trivets...you name it. When I first started painting I used to look for slate. These are perfect for just about any craft project. Just remember how heavy slate is. And the price is a little heavy as well. I may need to keep them in the kitchen and use them for parties instead of crafts with this kind of price. Four stars because of the price.

The quality of these slate boards is wonderful. They were packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. They are thick and heavy, which only adds to their natural beauty. The natural edges further enhance their visual appeal. I have used these several times as cheese boards and serving plates for tea sandwiches, dried fruits, mini tarts, and other bite-sized treats. I also like to use these for grouping together ‘themed’ condiments on the dinner table. If we're having sushi, I’ll set out soy sauce, and small dishes of ginger and wasabi on a slate board. If we’re eating Italian, a slate board might have a bowl of grated cheese, fresh basil leaves or pesto, a pepper grinder, and a cruet of olive oil. They also make great trivets and even a simple centerpiece by adding a candle, a sprig of greenery or flowers (real or fake), some smooth stones, seashells, fruits, pinecones, mini gourds, nuts, leaves, etc. No matter how these slate boards are used, they will add quality and natural beauty. I recommend them and would buy them again.

These arrive well packaged: 2 slates are placed in a plastic bag, then 2 plastic bags (4 slates) are placed in a kraft paperboard box & 2 paperboard boxes (for the grand total of the 8 in a set) are then placed in a sturdy cardboard box.If giving as a gift, these are easily wrapped as they arrive (either as the full set, or half the set & keep the other half for yourself-I won't tell!). Due to the weight, I would not advise placing this in a gift bag - even the heavy duty ones would probably rip. This makes a very nice standalone house warming gift or any occasion gift for the host/hostess with the most-est. Elevate it by adding a 'host/hostess set' (serving utensils), or a nice full set of cheese knives.These slates lend themselves to all sorts of serving options, most notably cheese & charcuterie boards (or as it was know while I was growing up: the meat & cheese platters!).As slate was the original chalkboard, it is easy to label the various items by using a piece of chalk (or chalk pens) right on the slate. Regular chalk is edible (maybe not too tasty, but it won't hurt you one bit if you get any in your mouth accidently), but chalk markers may not be, depending on the brand, so do be aware if using them.Cleanup is a breeze with hand washing in warm soapy water & I've never had a need to let them soak. Just a quick wipe & rinse, then air or towel dry.Be aware, these will probably break (or possibly shatter) if dropped, especially on a hard surface.These also make attractive trivets for hot dishes.We highly recommend!

These feel thicker than a 1/4 to me which I like very much. These are well made and I'm very comfortable putting food on these. I'm sure they'd be great for Crafts also. I'm using these for Sashimi and they're working great. I highly recommend these Slate Cheese Boards.

These are amazing and cannot wait to use them to etch on. The size are large and all are in perfect condition. Love these, and would recommend for sure.

We use these to laser engrave and give as gifts.They are just the right size.They come ready to use with felt pad feet.The thickness is somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 inch.They seem to be good quality.The only thing I would be careful about is that the "natural edge" can be kinda sharp.
