I read this book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I felt very connected to the sisters through my own traumas; even though I never went through anything like they did; but trauma knows trauma. It was a easy read and it brought me some peace with my own situations.

I found myself in tears reading this book....just can't understand how a mother could abandon her children....

As other reviewers, I opened this book and did not set it down until the very last page. The author's ability to write her siblings' and her story with such honesty, prospective and hope is extraordinary to say the very least. The topic is perhaps hard to discuss, but the message of resilience, perseverance and reliance and trust in God eloquently communicated in this true story is nothing short of inspiring. I strongly recommend and encourage reading this amazing book, and giving it to friends and family as I have already.

Upon completion of reading Broken Water, I was left speechless processing all the emotions brought forward to the very last page. This book allows you to cry, not only because the stories are heartbreaking, but because you see within it yourself or someone you love.
