Whoever claims the knurl on this bar is too aggressive is a beta male posing as a man. The knurl is excellent. I have bars with more and bars with less and I like the grip on this bar.As others have said the bar sleeves shed metal flakes. I believe this is a temporary issue and once you have slid enough plates on and off and knocked down the rough edges on the machining on the loading sleeve this won't be an issue at all.There have been claims that this bar bends far too easily. My impression is they are right. With a 45 lb plate on each side I pushed on one side of the bar and the bar heaved up in the middle a bit. With 226 lbs on the bar the bend is noticeable, and when bench pressing you can feel a little bounce when you press. With 315 lbs on the bar the bend is beginning to look like a frown. At 405 lbs the bar is springy and whips hard on a dead lift. Some people like that on deadlifts. I don't mind it there but not on my bench press or my squats.In my opinion, this bar isn't going to hold 1200 lbs, but I am not either so I can find uses for this bar. It is now a dedicated deadlift and clean bar. If I can bend it (max 600 lb deadlift) I will revise my rating. I did not pay full price for this bar which also affects my rating. If I had, I would have returned it in favor of a proven power bar in the same price range. For what I paid I am going to keep it and beat on it.

Recently started a new garage gym and needed some basic bar bells to get started. I used to have the CAP OB-86B which is the go-to barbell for garage gyms. I saw this one which was a little cheaper and decided to give it a try. It had a couple features over the CAP. It has longer sleeve lengths, 16.5 inches over 15 on the CAP. It also has dual ring marks for olympic and power lifting. One draw back is that it has a 28mm shaft diameter vs. the 28.5mm on the CAP so it will have a little more whip.On my old CAPs I was able to load up over 600lbs for rack pulls and had no issues of it bending. I have not done that on these new barbells yet so we'll have to see how it holds up. I bought two of these and might pick up two more down the road.Pros:+Good price. A little cheaper than the CAP OB-86B+Dual ring markings+Longer sleeve lengths. Good for people who use bumbers+Coating and knurling makes the bar very grippy, especially when using chalkCons-28mm shaft makes it more of a Olympic weight lifting bar-Thinner shaft makes it more whippy at heavier weights-Time will tell if it will hold up against heavier weights

I do not know if i got lucky or what after reading some of the reviews but this barbell is awesome. I purchased the black version with the higher load capacity so I can only speak for that version but I own a rogue echo bar and it's just as good if not better than the echo bar. Yes better! I also bought mine used from the amazon warehouse so i actually got it for around 100 so look out for any deals. It is 28mm so it has a little more whip than a typical 28.5 or 29mm but I find it works great for all sorts of exercises. Heaviest I have loaded up was 335 so far for deadlifts which isn't much but no issue with bending or anything. Seems like it would handle 405 just fine with no issue. Also has good spin which is great for the oly lifts like the clean. If you take care of this bar it's a great investment if your trying to get healthier or stronger. Much better than any other cheap bar on the market.

I picked this bar up because I wanted a small upgrade to what my gym offered, and this bar is definitely that. It's far higher quality than what you'll see in your average commercial gym. The grip works well, bearings are smooth, it has snap rings instead of bolts holding it together, and the measurements are spot on. It's a solid 45 pound bar (not 20 kg actually), and overall finish is great.I use it primarily for squats and deadlifts. It does have the 28mm diameter so it's easier to grip on bench if that's your thing. I have yet to use it for any pressing.No complaints, this is a great bar and I feel it's a good value.

I ordered the 1200# bar.Original bar had a chip in the sleeve from the factory. Called customer service and they immediately shipped a new one out and let me hang onto the old one until I received replacement and verified item was not damaged. Can’t really ask for more from $130 barbell.Grip is great. Not sure how it could be interpreters as harsh. The new bars are slightly oiled but it goes away quickly and the bar begins to spin well after a few uses. That’s about it. A lot of barbell for the money.

Because of the attractive price of the Day 1 bar and my unfamiliarity with the brand, I was skeptical but pulled the trigger anyway because it has been extremely difficult to buy weightlifting equipment during COVID. It took 3 weeks for the bar to arrive, but it was worth the wait. This is a high-quality bar. It is on par with Rogue at a lower price point.

Been having a very very hard time acquiring a 20kg Olympic barbell and for the price since everywhere is charging insane prices for a new barbell. Amazon came through!!!!!!!!!!
