David Gilmour Blu-ray version
I Had the dvd but upgraded to the Blu-ray edition mainly for the audio. The dvd has lossy dolby digital which actually sounds fine but the Blu-ray has uncompressed LPCM 2.0 and lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 which sounds even better. I've noticed a few reviews regarding the picture quality saying its rather poor and the dvd is better - i have to disagree. I watched this on a 49" 4k Sony Bravia through a 4k Sony BD player via hdmi 2.1, the resolution is 1080i rather than 1080p which isn't really an issue and it looked fine upscaled to 4k. Its not demo material but looked better than the dvd - sharper, better colour and less compression artifacts.

Don't overlook the documentary
The accompanying documentary on the second disk is a joy to watch. We see all 4 floyds at one point or another. Roger and David find themselves occupying the same studio for rehersals for competing tours. So we see them briefly reunite for smalltalk before heading off in separate directions. All seems amicable enough. But you sense the continuing competition between the two performers is still alive and well. Indeed the packaging includes article cuttings from newspapers proclaiming David as the clear victor in that particular battle. Not that you get too much of a feeling of competitive edge from David himself. He seems altogether very chilled and laid back with his wife taking pics of everything the whole time. The documentary gives a good insight into the loving relationship between David and Polly. It's all rather nice.Nick Mason pops up in the tour footage now and then but he doesnt say anything unfortunately. Rick Wright playing Saucerful of secrets on the Royal Albert Hall organ is fascinating stuff. He seems to really relish the opportunity! In fact Rick Wright turns out to have a bit of a starring role in both the show and the documentary. There is clearly a very strong relationship between the 'musical half' of the Floyd. The documentary is worht the price alone - clocking in at over two hours. Backstage footage, beutiful scenery and jovial chat. Sometimes reminiscant of the Pompeii movie - especially when they play an old ampitheatre of all things. The main disc is standard concert stuff, excellently filmed with stunning sound. Again, the band all seem to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. The set-list is fantastic, some great takes on oldies like Echoes. At £11 or whatever it is, you wont be disappointed.

I was there!
I was at the Albert Hall for the third night when Bowie joined the band for the encores of Arnold Layne and Comfortably Numb. It was a quite extraordinary evening. It has been many years since I felt an atmosphere of such palpable excitement. Echoes was magnificent - in fact, every song was quite magnificent, but the real highlights were when Crosby and Nash sang, especially on Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Their voices were truly exquisite and really improved a legendary piece of music. The first part of the vocal section was done with just one guitar and three voices. I glanced around for a moment and saw so many people crying because it was so beautiful. And then watched Graham Nash watch with a look of awe and wonder on his face as the guitar solo soared. I had seen Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium and it was a great spectacle, but this night had passion and connection with the audience. I sat just in front of one of the cameras, and even the camera men were talking to the crowd and telling us just how superb the concert was going to be. They were right and surpassed themselves with this film. I hope everyone who buys this gets feels the same and derives as many hours of pure pleasure as I have done from the most tasteful and emotional guitar player the world has ever seen.

A night to remember.
Borrowed a mate's copy after watching I had to buy my own. A wonderful double DVD set. Well filmed, in my opinion. A geat gig. Excellent set list. An all star guest appearance list. But the 2nd "behind the scenes on the road" DVD must be the best of it's type. From frosty encounters at the recording studios to the once in a life time experience for the Venice street busker. Graham Nash realising he had wandered down Nostalgia Street. Everyone getting on together and appearing to have a great time. It also made me wonder how many people in passing vehicles glanced through the windows of their coach as it travelled up the M6 motorway? Thinking "he looks a bit like Dave Gilmour, and he looks a bit like.... and he looks like.... and he looks a bit like.... OMG it is them!!" Being a Blu-Ray disc it will up-scale to 3D on an LG TV, making the concert footage really amazing. Well worth visiting friends/family if your TV isn't an LG.

Gilmore and Wright at their best with Guests......Enjoy
This is the ultimate Dave Gilmore (Pink Floyd) performance. Different from PULSE and more intimate even at The Albert Hall. The Guests really enjoyed this GIG and inspite the absence of Female backing vocals (a staple with Floyd) Floyd's and Gimore's catalogue is given at Tour-de-Force here. Rick Wright being on Keys on some of his last performances was just great to see. For me Echoes is the keynote to this DVD. I always enjoy this when played live. I have seen a few "Tributes" play it and it always captivates. The version here is a good a performance as there is.I know some reviews have been a bit critical of Davis Bowie, I find this a bit harsh. The particular songs he is involved with "Emily" fits his late 60's style but Comfortably Numb is performed as well as he can do with his vocal range....in any case it is all about the guitar solo and Gilmore delivers it as only he can. Overall, what is not to like about this package and the extras. You don't get this quality of performance or DVD often. Own it !!!!

Exclente Show. qualidade. Diso1 = Disco2
