My cat loves these treats
I'm training my cat to sit and stay to keep him away from open doors. These have been great to train him. A little smelly but you kinda have to put your nose in the bottle for it to be overwhelming. But he loves the smell so I cant really complain, he's the one eating it, not me

Apollo Loves Them But They Do Not Hydrate Well
I read reviews that influenced me to buy Chef Kitty's Freeze-Dried Salmon for Cats because I was led to believe that these cubes hydrate well. They do not. Not in my experience, at least. This salmon did not inflate, or puff up, into tender, juicy chunks of salmon. They were somewhat moist yet still hard and unappealing. The cubes of salmon remained relatively hard even when I soaked them in VERY hot water. I also tried hot, warm, lukewarm, and room temperatures. Perhaps the fat content (which can be hard) contributed to this issue or maybe they were overdried. I learned about "overdrying" from my correspondence with another freeze-dried pet food company when I had to return some freeze-dried that contained black and brown sections in the fish. The Chef Kitty Freeze-Dried Salmon also has some discoloration - mainly black and brown spots on many of the cubes.I have a lot of experience buying freeze-Dried food products from Amazon. One consistent problem is that they are delivered not in a sturdy box with protection inside, but rather in a flimsy envelope. So I often end up with a bag of crushed freeze-dried food. Other customers have complained about this too. However, in this case, the salmon is brought to you in a jar which can prevent the crushing. But I have been also questioning whether or not amazon is storing freestyle food in a cool, dry environment. Some of the freeze-dried products I receive seem old or stale. It seems like a stale condition would not be possible since they are freeze-dried, but believe me, when I buy the same product directly from the manufacturer, the difference in the product's shipping container and freshness is remarkably BETTER.So, in a nutshell, these seem a little too hard and maybe a little old, but my kitty, Apollo, inhales then with wild abandon when I feed him some dry cubes of this Salmon. He absolutely refuses to eat them, however, when I offer him the salmon after I "try" to hydrate it. I try to hydrate my boy as much as possible to avoid urogenital and kidney problems (i.e., crystals) that cause kitties so much suffering. Males are especially in danger of being "blocked" and not able to urinate because of the way they are designed; this situation is dangerous and can be lethal. So, I am curious what kind of Chef Kitty quality I might receive if I bypass Amazon and purchase directly from the Chef?We will see ...

My cat loves this!
My cat adores these treats! I use them as a topper for her food and as individual snacks. They are also more affordable than other brands I've tried. Thank you!

Made my cat throw up
My cat ate a couple of treats. Within 10-20 minutes, I heard him crying and he threw up twice. He's an indoor cat and a light eater. His reaction after eating these was frightening.Has anyone else noticed their pet getting ill after eating these freeze dried chicken heart treats?
