Controls on the device are a little confusing but overall decent
navigating inside the app built into the device are a little confusing. I kept pressing escape to go back versus lower left there is a back option that I dont know how to select. Other than that was relatively easy to use, powered right up and gave all the trouble codes on my BMW quickly. It's easy enough to reset the trouble codes if you would like as well. Its helped me to diagnose some bad sensors that I can change myself and safe a bundle over the dealer prices!

Only able to use on mini
This truly is only to use on Mini and possibly BMW. We tried using it on a ford, Volvo, hummer and Infiniti and it does not work.It does work on mini and appears to read issues correctly. My star ratings are based as follows:5⭐️ - love it, can’t live without it. Outstanding and amazing.4⭐️ - pretty great, no major flaws.3⭐️ - got some issues going on.2⭐️ - pretty flawed product.1⭐️ - don’t waste your time or money. Just not worth it.

Works great
This is a great DIY diagnostic tool. Very simple and easy to use. It does scan the full system and tell the default codes With the details. Love the quick response from this device. Very less loading time. Service functions works great. No complaints so far I love it.

It works, but translation issues in the handheld limit usefulness
I got 2 different OBDII readers around the same time. This one and another one that uses an app on a phone as the display. So I’ll compare them as well as give my impressions of each in their own reviews.Overall - I think I prefer the other one that uses a phone app. It’s smaller and the app is much easier to use than the handheld unit on this one.Pros:1) It requires no extra devices or power, just plug it in, put the car in ACC mode and away you go2) It reads all the fault codes on the car, and this one is especially designed for German cars (BMW in my case). What this means in practice is very little compared to other devices, however.3) It comes with a nice hard case for the unit as well as USB-A micro-SD card reader to read the card from the device. I suppose that this allows you to pull the data off the device as well as to do updates (if needed).4) It’s faster, faster that the phone based one at reading the codes.Cons:1) The language on the device is English, but it could do with a more native speaker giving the translations a review as many of them are just odd.2) There are usability issues. The display makes you think that the F1 and ESC buttons match up with the indicators on the display. This is not true. I had to remind myself that ESC is always back and OK is always ok, even though the display makes you think otherwise.3) Resetting the fault codes doesn’t update the display. So if you reset the codes, it still shows an X for any area that _had_ faults. You have to reread everting to get it show current state.4) For the battery test function, it walk through the test including turning the lights on and then off and it offers a histogram, but it doesn’t actually plot anything. It just shows the values on the screen.5) It takes a lot of presses to read the fault codes and reset them. More than it should, in my opinion.6) Any updates have to be done via the micro-SD card, and while it comes with a reader, it’s USB-A only. You may be able to update by directly connecting it to a computer via the mini-usb port (yes, you read that right, not USB-C or even micro-USB - it’s getting hard to find mini-USB cables).7) The screen is hard to read in direct sunlight. I guess it’s designed to be used in a garage where there is no direct sunlight, but still, sometimes you need to use it outdoors, and for that situation, you have to shade it in the car or with your hand to be able to read the screen. For my money, I prefer the other model that uses the phone. If you are mechanic and work on cars a lot, you may not like that option as it means you have your phone in the garage and around cars and engines and tools, increasing the odds that you damage it. But if you are a mechanic, odds are you are using one of the much more expensive units with a built in large LCD display that has a lot more functionality than these little portable ones. These are designed for the hobbyist, I think.Overall, this isn’t a bad unit, I just think they missed the mark on a few areas, especially when comparing it to others in a similar price range.

VERY buggy scanner!
This scanner has many issues! I'm not using it for a BMW. I'm just using the normal OBDII scanner feature. For example, I needed to check and clear two codes on a GMC Sierra 1500. The first two times I tried to do this, the scanner froze up completely while the scanner app was loading and displayed some kind of weird language jibberish on the screen (see the attached photo). Both times, I had to unplug the scanner to force it to restart and try again. Then it finally scanned the codes but froze when I tried to navigate forward or backward or delete the code. I was finally able to get my codes erased on about the sixth try. Also, it doesn't give details about the codes that I was used to with other scanners. I could not tell what the code was about.I only need a scanner several times per year, so I guess I'll keep it since I was finally able to clear the codes. But this is certainly NOT a professional scanner and, in my opinion, not suitable for frequent use.

Basic and compact code reader
This code reader gets the job done. I used it on a 2010 Toyota Prius. It was able to detect a code, read it, and clear it. The interface is not very intuitive and I often looked up the code online for greater detail. The ability to clear the codes was. Very useful for temporarily bypassing codes to get the car back on the road quickly. The device is compact which is good for storage but bad for old eyes reading a screen. you Might need to look up codes on another device for a more complete picture of what wrong with your vehicle
