Morricone 60

You would hope it would be impossible to have an Ennio Morricone compilation without including the original music from the numerous films which he was involved in – after all, isn’t that why people are likely to buy this CD in the first place?However, it appears that some slick record company executive has decided to release a compilation made almost entirely of re-recorded versions of his music. In fact, the only originals included here are the last four tracks. The rest (as I’ve discovered tucked away on the last page of the enclosed booklet) were recorded in various cities around Europe with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The four originals appear to have been tacked on to fill the remaining space on the CD.This may be down to copyright issues, but it would have been useful to know this before purchasing to avoid the feeling of having been cheated.

I'm a big fan so the review may be a bit biased.From the first track the music from (The Mission) is just beautiful. 23 tracks in total from a master of his craft.I use this CD in my car a lot and it helps me relax and takes the stress out of driving, particularly on long journeys which I do a lot. Highly recommended.

Good collection. However it’s not the original soundtracks but concert recordings. I’d have preferred the original recordings.

This is a beautiful album from one of the masters of modern film scoring. These reimagined, rerecorded versions with the Czech philharmonic are truly wonderful and it compiles a great composer's best works. Highly recommended.

Cheap Product with cardboard sleeve. Not even a proper case. Track 20 has so much hiss,you could have mistaking it for a cheap cassette player back in the 80s. Even in the 60s when it was recorded, they had decent equipment to eliminate background hiss. A avoid-this-product from me

Need a classic theme, melody or piece of music to make you emotionally tingle - listen to this album ....timeless classics from an Italian Master !!!

Terrible compression producing harsh tones on what should have been an epic reproduction, produced on a single thin disc material and presented in a cheap package.An positively low rent presentation which clearly deserves better.The sort of offering that one might expect given away free in a Sunday newspaper.

An excellant selection of Neo classical music. Morricone is the king of movie themes and his music will live forever. The only negative is that these are not the original on screen themes but the Czech National Symphony Orchestra have produced superb versions of these memorable pieces orchestrated by the Movie Master.
